Full Job Description
Position Overview:

As our Front-Line Manager for Maintenance, you will lead and support a skilled trades workforce to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient maintenance operations across the entire Barberton facility. You will supervise hourly maintenance millwrights, electronics repair technicians, and Construction Specialists, working within union contract requirements while partnering with technical and production teams to set repair priorities, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement. This role serves as a key advocate for both employees and operational excellence by maintaining strong communication on safety, quality, equipment performance, and corrective actions.

Your Day to Day as a Front-Line Manager
  • Supervise hourly skilled trades employees in maintenance disciplines, including millwrights, electronic repair technicians, and Construction Specialists.
  • Provide safety leadership and support across all maintenance activities.
  • Assign work, set priorities, establish performance expectations, and address employee performance issues.
  • Ensure equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and breakdown activities are effectively executed to maintain and improve equipment uptime.
  • Approve time and attendance for Maintenance employees.
  • Communicate with production foremen and welding technicians to align on repair needs and priorities.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and spare parts requirements.
  • Report regularly, verbally and in writing, on safety, quality, equipment condition, and maintenance activities.
  • Address safety and quality issues that arise and partner with support groups to resolve and formalize corrective actions.
  • This position is primarily for 2nd Shift; however, flexibility to transition between shifts and work areas is essential for ensuring seamless operations across multiple departments. Additionally, the role requires availability for scheduled overtime to address operational needs as they arise.

Required Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a union environment
  • Mechanical and/or electronics maintenance experience is required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage, direct, and collaborate with employees and leaders of varied backgrounds and generations.
  • An associate degree or additional advanced education is a plus; equivalent experience with machine tools, welding equipment, and manufacturing equipment may be accepted.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Suite and SAP is desired.
  • Passion for employee engagement, organizational development, and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.


Pay: $70,000 - $103,000

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
