Full Job Description
Team Summary
The Fleet Supervisor will work closely with the Area Fleet Manager to develop and maintain fleet strategies and management systems. This position is responsible for working with Plant Management and Plant Logistics to meet the company's overall objectives related to service and cost as well as being accountable for providing a safe and legal operation of the private truck fleet.

Job Summary
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for drivers, equipment, scheduling, and safe operation in assisting our customers to attain goals related to raw material pick-up and delivery, customer deliveries and operation coordination. They establish and promote a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment.

Essential Duties
  • Assures that the truck fleet operation exceeds all safety performance standards set by the industry and the company. Ensure all DOT requirements are met, including driver's logs, certifications, and training. Monitor all safety issues on GAF property and on the road, to ensure compliance with all corporate and plant safety rules, DOT safety and OSHA rules and regulations. Complete Supervisor's Reports and conducts investigation for all accidents or injuries involving driver or equipment. Provide ongoing safety, training, meeting, safety documents, and poster and safety campaigns.
  • Work with the Customers Production Scheduler/Planner, coordinate pick-up and delivery of raw materials, as designated, ensuring no production down time as a result of inventory availability. Work with Customer Transportation Planner / Logistic Manager to coordinate timely delivery of finished product to customer base. Provide for shuttling needs for the Customer's offsite storage based on Plant capacity and/or inventory balancing.
  • Efficiently control fleet drivers, tractors, trailers, vans, and tankers within budget requirements. Audit and review fuel receipts, mileage and fuel reports, driver log books, DVIR's for maintenance and repair needs, delivery and shuttle sheets, in and out times, time sheets, pre and post-trip reports.
  • Tender shipping loads for full fleet utilization. Ensure proof of delivery documentation is maintained and within GPS, update status reports as required. Provide reverse logistic options to the Plants, as required. Manage, evaluate and discipline employees in accordance with corporate and vendor policy and procedure. Schedule driver work shifts, monitor employee attendance, process employee time for payroll.
  • Work with designated vendors to manage and select drivers. Perform new hire training, evaluation and qualifying. Provide ongoing training and evaluation. Work with designated vendors to manage equipment repair costs. Actively manage, negotiate and schedule repair and service activities. Vetting all repair and service invoices, addresses all concerns with vendors.
  • Continually improve, expand or curtail fleet operations (right size), as business conditions dictate. Routinely communicate with management as to fleet activity, condition, markets, concerns and changes needs. Continually work to identify savings and capture fleet operational savings opportunities.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Salary Range: $72,000-$99,000
