Your New Role...

The Supervising Producer is responsible for ensuring excellence in interviews and editorial coverage and works with a team to create new formats and franchises with talent. This role works closely with booking teams, external representatives, CNN talent, reporters, producers, and editors to develop news-making and revealing interviews. The Supervising Producer collaborates across the organization, from booking and talent to production, to identify compelling opportunities and deliver impactful editorial content.

Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Identify key bookings and conversation-starting opportunities, particularly in the culture and non-news space.
  • Prepare external parties for interviews and align expectations around editorial objectives and production needs.
  • Contribute to the development of new franchises and formats with creators, talent, and journalists.
  • Conduct pre-interview preparation with guests and interview subjects to identify key areas of inquiry and editorial opportunity.
  • Collaborate with talent and reporters to develop questions and interview approaches that result in compelling conversations.
  • Shape interviews through edit and post-production, identifying standout moments and supporting the transition from interview to final piece.
  • Identify and support the development of future internal talent.
  • Partner with journalists to refine interview approaches and strengthen newsroom interviewing practices.
