Responsibilities

  • Utilize structural analysis software for design tasks
  • Complete design tasks under supervision and gradually work independently
  • Coordinate structural design efforts with other disciplines and construction teams
  • Become familiar with and apply various structural standards and building codes
  • Compile necessary data and perform calculations for design studies and drawings
  • Prepare construction documents and cost estimates
  • Conduct bridge inspections and assist with site investigations as needed

Full Job Description
We are actively looking for an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join our Richmond Office.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as: Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.
  • Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently
  • Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team
  • Become familiar with various structural standards and building codes such as: AASHTO, AREMA, and UPRR/BNSF guidelines
  • Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies
  • Prepare cost estimates
  • Prepare construction documents
  • Collaborate with Bridge and Rail Team and all company disciplines
  • Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.

Base Salary Range:

$36.00 to $43.00 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Virginia market.
