A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, you will drive high-impact clinical digital transformation initiatives that enable functional excellence through optimized technology and innovation. The Medtronic Clinical and Regulatory Solutions (MCRS) business is seeking a Strategic Technology Enablement Program Manager with a key role responsible for representing the business on IT applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong demonstrated expertise at the intersection of clinical research and data/technology domains including the ability to collaborate across the matrix; balance competing interests to create shared value; and creatively solve problems through technology.

In this role you will be supporting a key clinical research program to modernize Medtronic Clinical's data and analytics platform leveraging modern cloud technology and standardization of data to drive meaningful and sustainable value for portfolio execution. This role requires strong partnership r with IT on behalf of the business to integrate various data sources with the new cloud data platform. Strong technical aptitude to facilitate effective integrations with both cloud and on prem infrastructure. This program represents a key investment for Medtronic, and success in this role requires strong expertise in understanding and aligning business and IT needs and processes to drive successful outcomes.

This role may require up to 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Collaborates with various departments on the design, documentation, testing, and implementation of clinical data collection systems.
  • Develops systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report data and trends.
  • Prepares reports of clinical trial studies for internal validation and cross validation studies.
  • Business ownership of key clinical applications facilitating connections and communication between business end users, MCRS, IT, and vendors
  • Contribute to system validation, maintain enterprise configuration and support
    product release management
  • Vendor relationship management including business input on contracting, audit, and general oversight
  • Financial acumen to support necessary forecasting, variance analysis and funding requests
  • Identify current & future technology needs to enable functional strategies, including business case development for associated funding asks
  • Advise/evaluate solutions and support selection of vendors, including coordinating business input from OU, Regions, and MCRS subject matter experts
  • Lead and/or support pilot and implementation efforts for new software
  • Proactive communication with key stakeholders on systems health, strategy and program execution, including escalation management when required
  • Educating and driving alignment with user community regarding enterprise standards and consistent utilization of systems


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of focused on business enablement and optimization of systems and technology (or 3+ years with an advanced degree)


Nice to Have:
  • 5+ years of clinical research systems and technology experience
  • AWS cloud integration experience
  • Medical device or other regulated industry experience
  • Deep understanding of Clinical Research processes with the ability to strategically align technology solutions to business needs.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale technology implementation projects, including system replacement efforts and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures, fostering collaboration across business units, IT teams, and external vendors to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including contracting, financial oversight, audits, and ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Skilled in identifying future technology needs, evaluating solutions, and developing business cases to secure funding for strategic initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with system validation, pilot testing, and implementation of new software, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business requirements.


For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. a7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $204,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
