Job Title: Strategic Portfolio Operations Manager (IC)

About the Team

The Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) team drives how Salesforce scales through aligned investment decisions, trusted portfolio data, and an integrated tooling ecosystem. We are transforming from fragmented portfolio management practices to a unified, data-driven operating model by building the systems, processes, governance, and insights that enable DET leaders to prioritize strategically, plan effectively, and deliver with confidence.

Our FY27 strategy is anchored on five pillars: Portfolio Planning, Data & Systems Optimization, Tooling Enablement, Process Excellence & Governance, and Capacity Planning. This role sits at the intersection of Data & Systems Optimization and Tooling Enablement, helping ensure that our portfolio systems, reporting, and operational processes provide accurate, actionable insights for decision-making across the organization.

About the Role

The Strategic Portfolio Manager Analyst is the frontline owner of the Strategic Portfolio Management tooling ecosystem and portfolio data foundation. This role serves as the primary resource for portfolio tooling support, data quality management, reporting enablement, and operational excellence across Airtable, Linear, Tableau, Slack integrations, and emerging portfolio management platforms.

Success in this role requires a combination of rigorous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a systems-thinking mindset. The ideal candidate understands how data, processes, and tools interact across the portfolio ecosystem and proactively identifies opportunities to improve data integrity, reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and user experience.

This highly cross-functional role partners closely with Pillar Portfolio Managers (PPMs), senior analysts, business stakeholders, Finance, and DET leadership to ensure portfolio data is trusted, dashboards provide meaningful insights, and the organization can operate and scale effectively.

  • Assist in executing established data governance standards and controls.
  • Identify data discrepancies and escalate findings to portfolio managers and system owners.
  • Support root-cause analysis efforts and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Help maintain data models, system configurations, and business processes supporting portfolio planning and reporting.
  • Assist with execution of the Data Governance & Quality Program.

Tooling Enablement & Frontline Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for portfolio tooling support requests across the DET organization.
  • Assist users with troubleshooting and aid in resolving issues across portfolio tooling stack including Airtable, Linear, Tableau integrations, Slack integrations, and related portfolio management systems.
  • Monitor system performance, integrations, and workflows to ensure data moves accurately and efficiently across connected systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of user documentation, training materials, process guides, and enablement resources that drive adoption and operational consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve user experience, and increase the effectiveness of portfolio management tools.

Dashboarding, Reporting & Visualization
  • Support the development and maintenance of portfolio dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Assist with gathering reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
  • Validate and reconcile data used in dashboards and reporting outputs.
  • Support enhancements to DET and Executive Dashboards.
  • Generate recurring reports and ad hoc analyses for portfolio stakeholders.
  • Help ensure reporting aligns with established governance standards and business requirements.

  • Maintain portfolio data used for planning, reporting, and operational reviews.
  • Assist with time-tracking compliance activities and data quality reviews.
  • Support headcount, allocation, and resource planning data administration.
  • Help document and maintain portfolio operating procedures and governance processes.
  • Provide operational reporting and analytical support to portfolio managers.

  • Support budget tracking, forecasting, accrual management, and reporting activities.
  • Maintain financial reports and dashboards used by portfolio stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical support for scenario planning and investment reviews.
  • Assist Finance and portfolio managers in identifying reporting discrepancies and budget variances.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in portfolio management, program management, business operations, systems administration, business analytics, or related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience with portfolio or work management platforms such as Airtable, Linear, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Strong data management and quality assurance experience, including validation, reconciliation, auditing, and maintenance of complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Strong systems-thinking capabilities with the ability to understand dependencies and relationships across tools, processes, and data ecosystems.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions, dashboards, and actionable visualizations.
  • Experience working with relational datasets and integrating information from multiple systems to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
