Full Job Description

Big picture, you will work with teams in developing and implementing strategies that solve clients' problems and inspire new ideas and work that gets people excited. You will be asked to think like a marker, not an advertiser.

Success for this position is measured in the ability to partner with teams within the agency to develop strategies that inspire ideas and work that is contextually relevant across all media, from mobile, to social, to broadcast, as well as highly targeted, data-informed content. And, you must bring our clients along on this ride.

Overview

A Planner will play a key role in gathering data and insight, inspiring work, and contributing to the development of strategy POVs and briefs. The candidate ideally has 2-3 years of strategic/account planning experience (or other transferable experience with relevant skill sets (i.e., journalism, sociology, brand building, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and synthesize data, research, and observation into insight
  • Write creative briefs that are clear, concise, and inspiring
  • Stay up-to-date on cultural and consumer trends (and inspire the rest of the agency and clients with it too)
  • Proactively track and share emerging cultural moments, trends, and behaviors that could unlock new creative or strategic opportunities
  • Be a trusted partner to creative and account teams
  • Work closely with data teams to understand consumer data and how it applies to our business.
  • Create/manage project presentations for working team
  • Set up regroups for working team and distribute work for review/feedback when necessary (this includes proactive coordination of T2 partners, too)
  • Lead the charge in observing and organizing the details of research and workshops. Observe all IDIs/focus groups. Participate in the moderation of workshops. Take the lead in gathering and synthesizing notes + identifying interesting insights and takeaways/outcomes.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead research projects related to client's business
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required


Qualifications

  • Ideally has 2-3 years of strategic/account planning experience (or other transferable experience with relevant skill sets (i.e., journalism, sociology, brand building, etc.)
  • Have an opinion and be willing to listen to others' opinions.
  • Must have experience supporting the development of strategy with teams
  • Must have strong presentation skills and be able to develop presentation materials that are clear & concise
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Innate curiosity to want to understand culture, people and what makes them tick
  • Demonstrated habit of staying plugged into culture - whether through social platforms, media, communities, or personal passions - and an ability to connect what's happening in the world to what matters for brands
  • Good creative instinct - ability to identify a good idea and what will inspire good ideas
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to bring audiences and strategies to life in compelling ways
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a confident writer
  • Must have experience analyzing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative research
  • Must understand both quantitative and qualitative methodologies

Compensation Range: $78,000 - $83,000 Annual Salary. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
