Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 5 years of experience in business development within hardware and technical road mapping, including direct contract negotiations.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics, auto, OEMs, telecom, e-commerce/retail, apps, ads, gaming, or technology industries.
  • Experience with OEM/component partnerships and managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading partnership initiatives that have significantly impacted business outcomes.
  • Experience influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives with, excellent leadership skills.
  • Experience communicating information to executives and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the broader hardware industry, video communications, and tech landscape including with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent acumen, business analytics with attention to detail, with the ability to manage change and a rapidly changing business environment.


About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will be a primary driver in scaling the Google Beam hardware portfolio. You will have a focus on product and manufacturing, tasked with securing the long-term alliances necessary for next-generation Beam devices. You will lead the identification, recruitment, audit, and onboarding of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Joint Design Manufacturers (JDMs) to move Beam from a single-product offering to a portfolio of form factors. You will be expected to thrive in ambiguous environments, lead large cross-functional workstreams, and serve as a "go-to" expert for internal and external stakeholders in the video conferencing hardware and manufacturing industry.

Google's Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google's own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google's user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
  • Lead partner lifecycle for OEM and JDM partners, owning outcomes and managing the identification, creation, and negotiation of ecosystem initiatives.
  • Lead development and commercial terms negotiations including IP licensing frameworks, unit cost thresholds, and business growth-share terms which enable a profitable ecosystem for all parties and drive results for Google.
  • Influence stakeholders with competing objectives in product, engineering, and legal to align on ecosystem strategies that support long-term product objectives.
  • Oversee large workstreams for the next-gen roadmap, coordinating resources and providing account leadership for all stages of a agreement lifecycle and product launch. Utilize knowledge of the hardware industry to act as a trusted advisor for executive-level relationships.
  • Set and monitor partner Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing data-driven insights to optimize manufacturing integrations and supply chain health.
