About the role:

The Strategic Marketing Program Manager will develop and support strategic marketing initiatives that drive market development, physician engagement, patient conversion, and growth for the Interventional Spine (IVS) business. This role will generate deep patient, physician, and market insights and translate them into actionable strategies that inform marketing investments, commercialization, and future portfolio decisions.

This individual will work across upstream and downstream marketing activities, partnering closely with Sales, Clinical, Medical Affairs, R&D, Digital, and global marketing partners. The role will also help advance digital and AI-enabled marketing capabilities to improve customer understanding, decision-making, and marketing effectiveness.

Work Mode
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead patient and physician market research strategy, including ATU, PET, voice-of-customer research, segmentation, and persona development; manage external research partners and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Develop clinical marketing strategies and partner with Clinical and Medical Affairs to translate scientific and clinical evidence into compelling customer insights, messaging, education, and marketing programs.
  • Develop patient journey and conversion strategies that identify and address barriers across awareness, diagnosis, referral, treatment consideration, and therapy adoption.
  • Provide strategic direction for digital marketing initiatives and identify opportunities to leverage AI, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to improve audience insights, targeting, personalization, marketing investment, and program effectiveness.
  • Support upstream marketing and portfolio strategy through opportunity assessments, voice-of-customer research, market and competitive analysis, product positioning, and identification of unmet customer needs.
  • Support downstream commercialization activities for the existing and future IVS portfolio, including positioning, messaging, launch planning, market development, and integrated marketing programs.
  • Develop and support physician engagement and KOL strategies, including planning and execution of advisory boards and translating physician insights into actionable marketing, clinical, and portfolio recommendations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Clinical, Medical Affairs, R&D, Digital, and global marketing teams to align strategic priorities and execute key initiatives.
  • Leverage market data, customer insights, and appropriate performance metrics to evaluate marketing initiatives, identify growth opportunities, and inform resource and investment decisions.
  • Manage external agencies, market research vendors, and strategic partners as appropriate to deliver high-quality programs on time and within budget.


Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, market research, strategy, technology commercialization, scientific or clinical research, product development, healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex customer, market, scientific, or business information and translate insights into actionable strategies and recommendations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and influence across functions within a matrixed organization.


Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, PhD, or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Engineering, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience in strategic marketing, market research, technology commercialization, market development, or product strategy.
  • Experience with physician and patient research, segmentation, persona development, voice-of-customer research, or customer journey mapping.
  • Experience supporting upstream or downstream marketing activities, including opportunity assessment, product positioning, commercialization, or product launches.
  • Experience translating scientific or clinical evidence into commercially relevant insights and strategies.
  • Experience with digital marketing, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, or emerging marketing technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com-will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
