Job Summary:

The Office of Procurement, Payment and Travel is seeking a Strategic Initiatives & Stakeholder Engagement Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape what comes next for OPPT. Working closely with OPPT leadership and partners across the Division of Finance and Administration, this position will turn ideas and strategic priorities into action, connect people and perspectives across organizational boundaries and bring momentum to complex initiatives. We are looking for someone who brings initiative, sound judgment and a collaborative spirit, who asks thoughtful questions and who can bring both structure and creativity to the work. This role provides meaningful opportunity to influence how OPPT evolves, strengthen the experience of our employees, customers and partners and contribute to work with impact across OSU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic initiatives and special projects that advance OPPT and Office of the Deputy CFO priorities, translating leadership goals into actionable plans, coordinating cross-functional work and driving projects through implementation.
  • Build and strengthen stakeholder relationships with campus partners, customers, suppliers and external organizations through strategic outreach, engagement and collaboration that improve services and organizational outcomes.
  • Develop and execute communications and engagement strategies for OPPT programs, services and initiatives, translating complex information into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences and communication channels.
  • Manage and steward OPPT's digital presence and organizational resources, including websites, SharePoint, brand resources, shared documentation and technology planning to support effective communication, knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Advance organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement by gathering and analyzing data and stakeholder feedback, identifying opportunities, supporting policy and operational improvements and coordinating learning, change management and employee development efforts.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and partner to OPPT leadership, researching complex issues, evaluating options, developing recommendations and supporting organizational, workforce, budget and succession planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, analyze information and data, develop reports, and provide recommendations that support decision-making and organizational priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences using a variety of communication methods.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using technology and digital tools to support communications, information management, reporting, or operational activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and provide strategic support on complex organizational issues.


This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education, government, or another complex organizational environment.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, outreach, partnership development, or customer experience initiatives.
  • Experience managing websites, SharePoint sites, or technology planning/replacement programs.
  • Experience supervising staff or providing lead-work, or performance guidance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for meetings, conferences, or professional engagement activities.

Working Conditions/Schedule:
This position follows a hybrid work model, with onsite and remote work determined by unit needs and specific responsibilities. Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment and involves frequent communication with staff, suppliers, external partners and stakeholders in person, by phone, email, and virtual platforms.

This role requires the regular use of a computer and standard office equipment, and may involve extended periods of sitting or standing. Occasional work outside of standard business hours may be required to meet deadlines or support projects. This position may also involve occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or other professional engagements.

Salary Range:

$75k - $95k
