Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Contracts and Privacy Coordinator provides specialized support to college departments in the development, drafting, review, interpretation, and administration of a diverse range of contracts and agreements. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the College's legal counsel, this role helps ensure contractual arrangements are well managed, appropriately documented, and aligned with college policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
The role also supports the College's access and privacy obligations, including privacy impact assessments, information access requests, compliance activities, and staff education. This is an opportunity to contribute to two important areas of institutional governance while working with stakeholders across the College.

What You'll Be Doing:Contract ManagementYou will provide practical and specialized support throughout the contract lifecycle, helping departments navigate agreements while identifying and mitigating contractual risk. Working with legal counsel and internal stakeholders, you will draft, review, interpret, and administer a variety of agreements, ensuring they are consistent with College policies, procedures, and established processes.
Using the Cobblestone contract management platform, you will develop, review, and maintain contractual documentation, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), student placement and work experience agreements, leases, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and other College contracts.
You will apply sound judgment, accountability, discretion, and strong attention to detail when reviewing contractual terms and identifying potential risks. You will work collaboratively with legal counsel, departments, and internal stakeholders to support negotiations, resolve issues, and ensure agreements appropriately balance operational requirements with the College's interests.
Access and PrivacyWorking closely with legal counsel, you will support the College's compliance with applicable access and privacy legislation, policies, and procedures. You will conduct privacy impact assessments, identify and help mitigate privacy-related risks, and support the College in responding to information access requests in accordance with Alberta's Access to Information Act. This will involve liaising with internal and external parties, gathering and reviewing relevant information, and ensuring requests and privacy matters are managed accurately and within required timelines.
You will also contribute to building awareness and understanding of access, privacy, and information management practices across the College. This includes developing and delivering training, workshops, and awareness sessions for staff, as well as supporting audits, reviews, and investigations related to privacy and information access. Throughout these activities, you will exercise sound judgment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
What Sets You ApartYou are a detail-oriented and highly organized professional who brings strong contract drafting and review skills, sound judgment, and a practical approach to managing contractual and privacy-related risks. You have experience drafting, reviewing, interpreting, and administering contracts and agreements, ideally using Cobblestone or a comparable contract management system.
You have knowledge of Alberta's Protection of Privacy Act and Access to Information Act, with the ability to apply legislative and policy requirements in a practical organizational setting. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and working accurately with complex and sensitive information.
You demonstrate a high level of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and ethical judgment. You are also a strong communicator and relationship builder who can collaborate effectively with legal counsel and internal stakeholders, support negotiations, and build trust while navigating sensitive or complex matters.
Qualifications:Minimum:- Bachelor's degree (Law, Business Administration, Information Management or related field)
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Experience drafting and reviewing contracts, including using a contract management system.
- Experience processing access to information requests and supporting privacy compliance, ideally in Alberta's public sector.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with effective interpersonal skills.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Access and privacy certification (e.g., CIPP-C, CIAPP-C, or University of Alberta's Information and Protection of Privacy Certificate) will be required to perform the role.
Compensation: $72,744 - $93,444
