This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. What you'll do:

In this role, you will own a sub-segment of Strategic Accounts and drive profitable sales growth in the colocation data center space selling customizable robotics solutions to hyperscalers and other critical businesses.

In addition to developing and implementing the sales strategy for your accounts and coordinate all commercial activities to achieve customer satisfaction through delivering value and efficiently resolving issues you will also possess technical knowledge, solid sales and communication skills and exceptional industry savvy.

This role can be based in California, South Carolina, Arizona (major data center hubs) or in a metro area with data center presence, and in reasonable commutable distance to major airport for travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve consistent top-line sales growth with the assigned Strategic accounts.
  • Accountable for developing, maintaining and growing the sales pipeline.
  • Comfortable in front of the key decision makers at various levels and locations.
  • Lead a virtual team of Sales and Sales Support professionals across multiple states and regions.
  • Create, plan and implement detailed Account plans and achieve timely completion of objectives.
  • Develop player maps and implement a program to connect the key sponsors at both sides for building longer partnerships.
  • Drive early-stage engagement to influence design for automation friendly specifications.
  • Lead and manage multi-year and multi-location sales programs and projects.
  • Develop knowledge of the product portfolio and Create customer value propositions and portfolio offering (Robots, Accessories, Function Packages, Robotic Cells, Full Turn-key Systems from the Global Solution Centers and Customer Service teams.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of commercial experience in Account Management and Key Account Management roles; strong preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and contacts with the data center automation space.
  • Solution selling, client engagement and industry awareness.


Desired Qualifications
  • Seasoned commercial campaigner in dealing with complex decision-making units (DMU's) within large global customer organizations.
  • Connections with hyperscalers, proven B2B sales expertise; preferably in data centers or adjacent industry such as electric, energy, generators, etc.
  • Experience with customers, including sales, problem resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across the United States.
  • Candidate must be able to work in the United States without ABB support.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $190k - $230k annually and is Sales Incentive Plan eligible.
