The OpportunityWe seek an experienced lead engineer with extensive full-stack web development expertise and a passion for creating impactful user-facing experiences reaching millions. Within the Adobe.com organization, you will help guide the technical direction and delivery of experiences (agentic and otherwise) across the Adobe.com Home for creative professionals, Adobe Learn, and other high-profile projects central to Adobe's creative ecosystem. You will work where front-end craftsmanship, backend architecture, and product strategy intersect - helping develop how users discover, learn, and engage with Adobe's products.
What you'll do- Lead the technical development and implementation of features across Home, Learn, and related web experiences, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and partner engineering teams.
- Drive front-end and backend development across the full stack, ensuring cohesive, performant, and accessible user experiences and systems.
- Mentor and guide engineers on the team, setting the standard on code quality, architectural thinking, and engineering guidelines.
- Implement innovative methodologies, rapidly prototype ideas and adopt new technologies to ensure outstanding results.
- Maintain a laser focus on performance, scalability, elegant architecture, and code quality.
- Ensure high availability and stability of the services and experiences you build.
- Approach challenges with a collaborative perspective to find solutions.
What you'll need to succeed- Over 10 years of software development experience with a history of guiding technical projects.
- Strong proficiency in front-end technologies including React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with backend technologies including Node.js, Express, RESTful API development, and GraphQL, AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with modern build tools, bundlers, and front-end performance optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with monitoring and telemetry tools like New Relic, Splunk, etc.
- Strong understanding of build systems, component architecture, and responsive/accessible web development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., AI-native IDEs like Cursor or Claude Code) to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging workflows.
- A passion for learning, hard work, and having fun while doing it all.
Bonus experience- Exposure to agentic development patterns, including tool orchestration, agent-to-agent communication, or AI-enabled backend services and harnesses.
- Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR), edge computing, or static site generation frameworks (e.g., Next.js).
- Experience with content management systems or personalization platforms at scale.
Expected Pay Range:Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $159,200 -- $301,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the pay range for this position is $208,300 - $301,600
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
