About the roleWe are hiring a Staff Security Architect to be a senior technical authority on how security is designed into that ecosystem, with a deliberate center of gravity in AI. This is a high-craft individual contributor role.
You will sit at two levels at once. With product and engineering teams, you are the person who can speak every security language in the room, map real technical risk, and guide teams to ship secure by design. Inside Security, you make our platforms, tools, and services add up to a single coherent posture, not a set of disconnected scanners.
We are transforming our security program for the agentic era: building agents and automation that meet developers where they work, and securing AI-native Unity products, LLM integrations, and agent workflows as they ship. You should be able to architect both sides of that, credibly, with engineers who build AI for a living.
What you will do- Shape security architecture for Unity products and services alongside the engineering and platform teams who own their own designs. Map technical risk, align on a coherent target architecture across those teams, and guide them to secure-by-design outcomes rather than late-stage findings.
- Embed in high-priority product and service launches from early design through release. Ensure security is addressed end-to-end and pull in the right specialists from ProdSec, SecOps, Offensive Security, and Infrastructure Security at the right moment.
- Partner with IT and other functions on the launch, design, and configuration of AI features across our vendor and third-party products, so new AI capabilities are enabled with the right controls, data boundaries, and defaults from the start.
With AI and agentic systems- Set the security architecture for Unity's AI-native products, LLM integrations, agent workflows, and AI-assisted development toolchains.
- Contribute to the security team's own agentic tooling. We are building automation that puts security review, guidance, and detection directly into developer workflows across source control, AI coding tools, and chat. You will be one of the senior voices on how it is designed, where it integrates, and how it scales without becoming a platform we maintain forever, working with the engineers building it rather than owning it end to end.
- Stay comfortable prototyping ideas with a hands-on approach.
Within Security- Analyze our risk posture and advise leadership on prioritization: which remediation and risk-reduction investments actually reduce risk to our products.
- Partner across Engineering Services to build secure paved roads for modern engineering practice, so the secure path is the default path.
What you bring- 10+ years in security, with substantial time in a security architecture, principal, or staff engineering capacity on complex, large-scale systems.
- Demonstrated high craft in AI security: hands-on architecture or security work on LLM-based products, agentic systems, or AI-assisted engineering workflows. You understand these systems at the implementation level, not as a category.
- Hands-on engineering ability. You build, prototype, and extend systems yourself, and you know when not to over-engineer.
- Strong cloud security depth in GCP, AWS, or Azure, including identity, workload, and CI/CD security.
- Solid command of secure architecture patterns, including what enterprise customers and auditors expect.
- Clear technical communication for both engineers and non-technical partners across regions.
Nice to have- Experience securing developer platforms, build systems, or CI/CD at scale.
- Experience in gaming, ad tech, or large developer-facing platforms.
- Contributions to AI security standards, research, tooling, or open source.
