You will help shape the future of advisor and employee experiences by leveraging Salesforce capabilities to deliver intuitive, scalable, and impactful solutions.

This role is tailored for an accomplished designer who thrives in strategic design leadership, systems thinking, and shaping product direction. You will drive design efforts across cross-functional teams, influence experience decisions, mentor designers, and play a pivotal role in defining how Salesforce experiences are designed and delivered across the organization.

As an individual contributor, you will bring strong influence and deep expertise, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Design Leadership to solve complex business and user problems through thoughtful, platform-aware design.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Design Leadership

  • Apply human-centered design in meaningfully novel ways while identifying opportunities to support more design-driven decision-making across digital product teams.

  • Contribute to strategic design thinking, influencing not only execution but also the broader digital experience strategy.

  • Ensure design decisions align with business objectives, user needs, platform capabilities, and organizational priorities.

  • Drive clarity and alignment across complex product initiatives, helping teams define problems, identify opportunities, and shape future-state experiences.

  • Influence digital experience strategy through collaboration with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, and Business teams.

Salesforce Experience Design

  • Lead design strategy and execution for Salesforce-based advisor and employee experiences, leveraging deep knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, patterns, and constraints.

  • Design scalable experiences that maximize native Salesforce capabilities while balancing usability, maintainability, implementation effort, and business value.

  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Product Manager, and Engineering teams to define platform-enabled experiences.

  • Advocate for platform-centric design approaches that leverage out-of-the-box Salesforce functionality wherever possible while identifying strategic opportunities for customization when necessary.

  • Design complex workflows and operational experiences across Salesforce products.

  • Shape and evolve Salesforce-specific interaction patterns and governance practices to ensure consistency across products and teams.

  • Contribute to the development and adoption of reusable Salesforce design patterns, implementation guidance, and design standards.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Salesforce platform teams to create cohesive and innovative digital experiences.

  • Utilize strong facilitation skills to foster collaboration and solve complex business challenges through workshops, working sessions, and design activities.

  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, demonstrating confidence, clarity, and influence during design discussions and executive presentations.

  • Build trust and establish long-term relationships through effective storytelling, strategic communication, and collaborative partnership.

  • Lead experience discussions that help teams balance user needs, technical constraints, regulatory requirements, and business goals.

Research & Design Excellence

  • Guide and conduct design research efforts, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decision-making.

  • Synthesize user feedback, business objectives, and platform constraints into actionable design recommendations.

  • Integrate emerging design patterns, platform capabilities, AI-enabled experiences, and evolving best practices into design methodologies.

  • Drive experience quality through design reviews, mentorship, and hands-on participation in product discovery and delivery.

Talent Development & Mentorship

  • Mentor Product Designers and Associate Product Designers, providing guidance on design craft, systems thinking, stakeholder management, and Salesforce-specific design practices.

  • Help elevate organizational design maturity through coaching, feedback, and thought leadership.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and design excellence.

  • Model Thrivent's leadership competencies: Model the Way, Rally the Team, and Deliver Outcomes.

  • Support and help create an environment focused on continuous improvement, employee engagement, and exceptional client outcomes.
