About the Role:

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing outstanding pharmacy service to our patients and partner organizations. Reporting to the Pharmacist-in-Charge/Pharmacy Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, maximizing quality and patient safety while dispensing medication in accordance with provincial and federal pharmacy regulations.

This is a full-time, on-site role at our North York, ON facility. Shift will be M-F, 9am - 6pm.

You Will:
  • Perform pharmacist duties including drug utilization reviews, patient counseling, and all regulated dispensing activities
  • Dispense prescriptions with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring accurate interpretation, labeling, and product selection in accordance with established workflow protocols
  • Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing pharmacy technician and assistant workflows, verifying preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and confirming order entries, charges, and inspections
  • Supervise the work results of support personnel, including pharmacy assistants and technicians, to ensure efficiency and safety of daily pharmacy operations
  • Maintain all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
  • Update and maintain accurate patient profile records in compliance with privacy legislation and the regulatory requirements of the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
  • Follow all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP), the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA), and Health Canada
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment as mandated by Health Canada's rules and regulations and established standard operating procedures
  • Drive quality efforts by adhering to standard operating procedures and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Monitor medication adherence and provide ongoing patient support in collaboration with a wide circle of care
  • Attend all pharmacy team meetings and participate in training and development initiatives as required
  • Protect patients and pharmacy staff by adhering to strict infection-control policies and protocols
  • Availability to support coverage on short notice is an asset
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform other tasks as assigned


You Have:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
  • Registered as a Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and in good standing
  • Effective knowledge of provincial and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations, including OCP standards, NAPRA guidelines, and Health Canada requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience; experience in mail-order or high-volume pharmacy settings is an asset
  • Ability to work flexible shift times to meet the operational needs of the pharmacy
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and patient safety
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities with the ability to counsel patients clearly and professionally
  • Strong tech proficiency and demonstrated ability to learn new pharmacy and dispensing systems quickly; proficiency in Windows-based computer systems
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and promote a positive, patient-focused company culture
  • Knowledge of French is an asset

Conditions of Employment:
  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
