HOW YOU9LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Sr. Technical Designer role is a manager role responsible for leading development execution across product categories and ensuring alignment to established fit architecture, block libraries, and technical standards. This role owns development execution through proto validation and block approval and partners with Production Technical Designers for successful handoff into bulk. This role typically reports into the Manager or Sr. Manager of Tech Design and is based in our Buckhead office.


50%: Strategic Development Process: Development Execution + Fit Ownership
- Provide clear fit direction aligned to block creation
- Own execution and validation of development from concept through proto approval
- Apply and enforce Fit Block Library, grading rules, and construction standards
- Ensure all tech packs are accurate, complete, and aligned to approved standards
- Identify and resolve fit, construction, and quality risks early in development
- Attend sample review sessions to note design changes, identify development, cost or quality concerns, and ensure revisions are clearly communicated to appropriate partners through clear communication and/or enterprise technology systems (e.g., PLM)
- Interpret consumer insights and returns data to recommend fit improvements


30%: Product Management: Block Integrity + Technical Standards
- Lead creation validation, and maintenance of fit blocks and 3D assets across categories and styles
- Build 3D assets utilizing CLO-3D and adjust digital patterns
- Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to evolve block standards
- Validate readiness of styles for handoff to Production Technical Designers
- Ensure carryover styles and block-based developments are clearly defined and transitioned
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Product Development (PD) and Time & Action (T&A/production/Impact Management) calendars; monitor seasonal progress and ensure that deadlines are met and partner with appropriate teams to expedite as needed


20%: Leadership: Cross-Functional Partnership + Mentorship
- Partner with Design, Product Development, and Sourcing to align on fit intent and construction Communicate clearly with global partners to ensure alignment
- Lead & motivate direct reports & teams facilitating their development
- Support onboarding and development of junior team members
- Foster commitment to teamwork and accountability


WE9D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Must have:

- 6-8 years industry experience in apparel Technical Design.
- Bachelor9s Degree or a minimum of 6 years of additional industry experience directly related to apparel Sourcing or Product Development
- Strong understanding of apparel construction, grading, ASTM standards and patternmaking.
- Advanced grammar and communication skills; capable of interpreting and conveying international business concepts.
- Strong understanding of CLO-3D (preferred), Browzwear or Optitex, Gerber Accumark, and Illustrator.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong analytical and project management skills; ability to anticipate and proactively arrive at viable solutions
- Demonstrate strong, consistent problem-solving abilities; results driving communication
- Ability to lift small parcels weighing up to 30 lbs.


Preferred skills and experience:
-Professional conduct and communication with matrix-based organizations and global teams
-Ability to assist with special projects such as performing competitor/internal product aesthetics and cost analysis

-Identify process improvements, document procedures and drive efficiencies and/or automation
