This position is a hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois, with one in-office day required each week.

DESCRIPTION

The Senior Tax Analyst supports the company's U.S. Federal and state income tax compliance. Responsibilities include collecting and reviewing data for tax returns, U.S. international reporting, and quarterly income tax provisions. In addition, the role involves assisting with federal and state tax audits, inquiries, and notices, and may include some indirect tax work. This position reports to the Senior Tax Manager and is based in Chicago, Illinois, with one in-office day required each week. The Tax team at Sinch is collaborative, results-oriented, and committed to supporting one another to achieve individual and group success.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Gather and review financial data for Federal and state income tax returns, including US international reporting. Review returns prepared by third-party advisors.
  • Tax Provision & Accounting: Review quarterly income tax provisions prepared under IAS 12 (IFRS equivalent to ASC 740).
  • Tax Reserve Calculations: Prepare quarterly income tax reserve calculations.
  • Account Reconciliations: Prepare quarterly reconciliations/proof for income tax liability and receivable accounts.
  • Audit & Controversary Assistance: Gather data and prepare detailed documentation (e.g., work papers, memos) to support and defend the company's tax positions and computations.
  • Notice Resolution: Prepare responses and documentation for tax notices and inquiries from domestic and international tax authorities.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. tax legislation. Quantify and model the impact of tax planning strategies and legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Demonstrate ability to research tax issues, and be proficient in interpreting and applying tax laws, regulations and cases to specific transactions and factual situations.
  • Process Optimization: Proactively contributes to initiatives that streamline tax processes and strengthen controls. Help drive efficiency gains by using automation tools and standardizing documentation.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or taxation
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting or tax experience
  • CPA license required
  • Big Four accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. income tax. Experience with gross receipts taxes, franchise taxes, or international tax reporting is a plus.
  • Experience with general ledger systems such as Microsoft AX, NetSuite, SAP by Design, QuickBooks, billing systems, or internal tax engines.
  • Superior organization, prioritization, and planning skills
  • Track record of taking initiative to drive individual and team results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Salary:

The annual starting salary for this position is between $123,000.00-$154,000.00. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. This role will be accepting applications until 8-10-2026 at a minimum. Please note that the application timeline may be flexible to accommodate a comprehensive candidate evaluation.

This position is a hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois, with one in-office day required each week. Applicants must currently reside in and be eligible for employment in the Metro Chicago Area.Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available for this role
