PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in Austin, TX
Job Duties: Drive development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing, and release to migrate existing legacy C++ applications to new raptor applications. Estimate delivery time based on the bandwidth of the team members, build a working prototype if necessary, and implement the feature along with unit and functional tests. Lead team participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Deploy code to stage environment for testing and conduct Quality Analysis of the feature considering all scenarios covering. Responsible for delivering multiple projects, initiatives, and features from requirements gathering to production. Investigate production issues reported on the checkout domain and quickly resolve to minimize end-user impact. Conduct formal and informal code reviews to ensure code quality. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus seven years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Java (5 years) - Experience developing and maintaining backend services using the Java framework.
2. Data Structures (5 years) - Experience with application of data structures in designing scalable algorithms.
3. Advanced Object-Oriented Design (4 years) - Experience with object-oriented principles and design patterns to architect robust and maintainable software systems.
4. Spring Core (4 years) - Experience developing enterprise applications using Spring Core and related modules.
5. C++ (4 years) - Experience writing efficient and high-performance applications using C++.
6. SQL and NoSQL (3 years) - Experience designing and optimizing relational and non-relational databases using SQL and NoSQL technologies.
7. Version Control (3 years) - Experience using Git or similar version control systems for collaborative software development.
8. Continuous Integration (3 years) - Experience setting up and maintaining CI pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
9. Kafka (2 years) - Experience building and managing event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
10. Spring Batch (2 years) - Experience implementing batch processing solutions using Spring Batch.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Austin, TX | Salary: $163,550.00-221,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
