Raytheon’s Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Sub-SBU delivers information superiority from space, multi-mission automation and orchestration, multiple intelligence (Multi-INT) and resilient operations, secure processing, and data management. We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to work onsite in our El Segundo, CA development center.
What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems
- Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment
- What You Will Learn
- A breadth of advanced software technologies and techniques including multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice software design
- Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques
- Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects
- Satellite ground system technologies including Mission Data Processing
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of relevant software engineering experience
- Experience developing object-oriented software using C++/C/Python in a Linux environment
- Experience with containerization, Kubernetes
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket
- Experience deploying a multi-threaded software on the Kubernetes cluster, using helm charts, podman container images and configuration management(yaml) files.
- Experience with resolving application issues on the Kubernetes cluster by analyzing logs and investigating container status using Kubectl commands.
- An active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Ability to develop test suites using the C++ google test and python unit testing frameworks to ensure compliance of SRS specifications for performance and interface requirements.
- Ability to integrate fully automated system/unit tests in the Jenkins pipeline to help streamline the regression testing process and provide reliable releases.
- Experience with collaborating and interfacing with the customers to support software installation with new releases for mitigating risk and resolving DRs.
- Experience using Agile methodology
- Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as Mission Data Processing
- Experience with software integration, cloud architecture, infrastructure/platform as a service, microservices, and web-based systems
- Experience with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
