Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to design and build the integration layer between OpenText Content Management and the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Microsoft 365 productivity services. You will develop SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions, Office add-ins, and Microsoft Graph and REST API integrations that enable thousands of enterprise users to seamlessly access, manage, and govern content directly within the applications they use every day. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role on a small, high-impact team with significant visibility across the organization. You will own features end-to-end, from architecture and design through implementation, testing, release, and post-production support. Working closely with Product Management, QA, Support, and Cloud Operations teams across multiple geographies, you will help deliver reliable, scalable, and intuitive integrations that are critical to our clients' daily workflows. Your Impact: The integrations you build are often the first experience clients have with our platform. When a records manager can securely file an email to a governed repository without leaving Outlook, or a project team can access controlled content directly within a Microsoft Teams channel, that experience is the result of your work. You will solve complex challenges that span two large enterprise ecosystems: OpenText and Microsoft. Success often requires going beyond the documentation, analyzing protocol traces, understanding authentication and token flows, and collaborating directly with clients to diagnose and reproduce issues. This is a role for a developer who enjoys tackling difficult integration problems, navigating ambiguity, and delivering solutions that have a direct impact on client productivity and adoption. What the Role Offers: As a Senior Software Developer, you will: - Design, build, and maintain SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web parts and extensions, Microsoft Teams applications, and Outlook add-ins that bring Content Management capabilities directly into the Microsoft 365 experience. - Develop and maintain integrations with Microsoft Graph and REST APIs across SharePoint, Teams, Exchange/Outlook, and related Microsoft 365 services, including bidirectional synchronization of content and metadata. - Build cloud-native back-end services on Azure using Azure Functions, Storage, Service Bus, and API Management, leveraging event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns to deliver scalable and resilient integrations. - Implement, secure, and troubleshoot end-to-end authentication and authorization solutions, including Microsoft Entra ID app registrations, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows, JWT validation, consent and permission management, credential rotation, and cross-tenant single sign-on. - Design relational data models and develop high-performance SQL Server solutions, including schema design, indexing strategies, query tuning, and optimization for large-scale workloads. - Diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges across Microsoft 365, Azure, browsers, and third-party platforms, including CORS restrictions, throttling behavior, tenant configuration differences, dependency failures, and platform version changes. - Partner with Support and Professional Services teams to investigate client escalations, reproduce reported issues, communicate actionable findings, and translate root-cause analysis into product and operational improvements. - Contribute to technical design discussions and architecture reviews, maintain high-quality technical documentation, and elevate engineering excellence through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. - Collaborate with an Agile development team alongside Product Management and Quality Assurance to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver high-quality releases on schedule. What You Need to Succeed: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with 6+ years of professional software development experience. - Strong object-oriented development expertise in C# and .NET, with a solid understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and software engineering best practices for building clean, maintainable, and testable code. - Strong front-end development skills using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with hands-on experience developing SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions. - Demonstrated experience integrating with Microsoft Graph and REST APIs across Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and related workloads. - Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, Storage, Service Bus, and API Management, in production environments. - Practical experience implementing modern identity and access management solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and Single Sign-On (SSO), including application registration, consent management, and delegated versus application permission models. - Strong SQL and relational database design skills, with experience developing and optimizing solutions on Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent RDBMS platforms. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts effectively to clients, support teams, and software developers at the appropriate level of detail. - Experience working within Agile development teams in cross-functional, geographically distributed environments. - Experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Content Services, or Information Management platforms, including concepts such as records management, retention policies, information governance, classification, and compliance. - Familiarity with modern containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, as well as scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash. - Demonstrated proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code), including the judgment to critically review, validate, test, and maintain generated code before production deployment. Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off. Salary Range: $98,080.00 - $147,120.00; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
