Full Job Description
Turner Industries is looking for an experienced Sr. Software Developer to join our team in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The primary objective of the Sr. Software Developer is to code software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers, as well as, become versed and in the domains of Agile, Scrum, Kanban and Extreme Programming as well as educating others in these domains as necessary.

Essential Qualifications:
  • The Sr. Software Developer position typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related area
  • At least 4 to 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
  • Familiarity with AI development tools (specifically Gemini and Claude) and basic prompt engineering
  • This person must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and will perform a variety of complicated tasks as well as lead and direct the work of others
  • Scrum is not a required prerequisite, but you will be required to learn Scrum and participate in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to deal with face-to-face interactions with a wide variety of personalities
  • A positive attitude, open mind, and willingness to learn are essential
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, etc.

Functional Requirements:

Demonstrate leadership and be solution-oriented; develop and maintain effective relationships with Team members; develop and maintain effective relationships with employees outside and inside of IT; mentor other developers as needed to advance their skill level as quickly as possible; have a deep understanding of .NET 5+, C#, ASP.NET Web API, JavaScript, at least one JavaScript
framework and HTTPS; have a deep understanding of design principles such as S.O.L.I.D. and design patterns; have a deep understanding of creating application-level architecture and teaching developers how to consume the architecture; ensure technical quality on projects by pair programing and performing code reviews; produce and support code for cross-platform mobile applications using .NET MAUI or similar modern frameworks; produce and support code for React applications; utilize AI-powered coding assistants and tools (specifically Gemini and Claude) to enhance productivity, code generation, and debugging; have a deep understanding of modern IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio 2026, VS Code) and a version control system; have working experience with SQL Server, Entity Framework Core 5+; have working experience with HTML5, CSS3; share the latest techniques and tools available in our development with other developers; deliver engaging and well thought out presentations to software developers regularly; propose specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely solutions to project impediments; assist in the development of a short- and long-term strategy to support the business challenges ahead as needed; provide software technical support to all our business users in a timely and professional manner as needed; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

About Turner Industries

Turner Construction is an American construction company with presence in 20 countries. It is a subsidiary of the German company Hochtief. It is the largest domestic contractor in the United States as of 2020, with a revenue of $14.41 billion in 2020. Turner Construction was founded in New York City in 1902 by Henry Chandlee Turner. Its first project was a $690 concrete vault in Brooklyn, followed by concrete staircases for the New York City Subway.
