Full Job Description
About the role:

Samsara is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the Driver Management team and ensure that every trip taken across hundreds of thousands of commercial vehicles is assigned to the right driver. Driver assignment is one of the foundational aspects of the Samsara Platform and when it breaks, everything downstream also breaks- such as driver performance management and compliance.

In this role, you'll own the platform that powers driver identification and assignment, using facial recognition, voice agents, and advanced ML models to automatically identify who's behind the wheel. You'll decompose a funnel problem into discrete, measurable solutions and ship them with urgency. This work sits at the intersection of AI, computer vision, and systems thinking, requiring analytical rigor, technical depth, and a bias toward action.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States.
You should apply if:
  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact - helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages your personal development and rewards ownership.
  • You want to solve problems in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment: You thrive where problems are complex, new solutions are constantly being introduced, and you push yourself to try new things - including shipping AI-powered products that don't yet have a playbook.
  • You care about the people who power the physical economy: You believe frontline workers deserve technology that recognizes their contributions, communicates with them on their terms, and genuinely improves their day - not just monitors them.
  • You appreciate candid feedback and an experimental mindset: Samsara employees challenge the status quo and recognize failure as part of the learning process. We encourage each other to be honest and hold ourselves to high standards.
In this role, you will:
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and north star metric of 100% assignment for the driver management platform
  • Work directly with customers and drivers to define new ways of making assignment seamless and efficient
  • Define and optimize solutions that are CV, ML, and voice agent based to streamline the driver experience in collaboration with best-in-class AI and ML teams
  • Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and drive a continuous cycle of experimentation and iteration grounded in data and customer feedback.
  • Work with world class engineering teams to deliver technically complex solutions that are the heart of Samsara's platform.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record shipping products used by real end users at scale.
  • Strong analytical rigor - you naturally decompose big metric problems into segments, root causes, and sequenced solutions.
  • Technical depth sufficient to be a true thought partner to ML engineers on model strategy, confidence thresholds, and system architecture.
  • Track record of shipping with urgency - you bias toward action, iterate fast, and let data drive prioritization.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to align cross-functional stakeholders and translate complex technical tradeoffs for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

An ideal candidate also has:
  • MBA Preferred.
  • Experience with computer vision, facial recognition, or voice/audio products.
  • Background in growth, funnel optimization, or marketplace roles where you owned a conversion metric end-to-end.
  • Platform product management experience - building capabilities consumed by other product teams.

Total Rewards

At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.

Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you're ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.

Flexible Working

At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely.
