About the Role:

Serves high net worth and institutional clients as Portfolio Manager within Baird Trust Company. Ongoing tasks include portfolio management, client service and investment review meetings, business development calls and serving on the Investment Committee.

This position offers flexibility with 4 days/week in our Seattle, WA office and 1 day remote.

The Impact You'll Make:
  • Serves high net worth and institutional clients within Baird Trust Company
  • Ongoing tasks include portfolio management, client service and investment review meetings, business development calls and serving on the Investment Committee
  • Develop satisfied clients through frequent contact for portfolios/relationships of a substantial size and complexity
  • Consult with major client relationships to develop investment objectives and implement a suitable investment plan and maintain an Investment Policy Statement for each relationship
  • Invest assets according to investment policy guidelines to deliver a competitive rate of return within the given level of risk
  • Working with Trust Administration interpret the intentions of the trust or agency agreement and build an investment policy to accomplish those objectives
  • Working with Financial Consultants/Relationship Managers, participate in the development of new business opportunities by meeting with prospects, preparing and presenting proposals for investment management
  • Keep informed of market trends and analyze the effect of these trends on client investment portfolios
  • Follow established investment policies and procedures including annual account reviews and working to minimize and/or document exceptions
  • Maintain awareness of new investment strategies, techniques and products through regular contact with other industry professionals and through internal and external research
  • Preparing and delivering clear, effective, and professional presentations. Communication skills and professional demeanor to interact with clients, prospects and all levels of management and colleagues within the firm. Providing appropriate recommendations for resolution of complex financial issues
  • Collaborate with Trust Administrators, Estate Planners and Financial Consultants/Relationship Managers to accomplish objectives
  • Work ethically and with integrity, including maintaining client and firm confidentiality
  • Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate

What You'll Bring to Baird:
  • Four (4) year degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance
  • MBA (preferred)
  • 10+ years prior experience as a portfolio manager in a banking or securities industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of global equity and fixed income markets along with knowledge of global economic conditions
  • Familiarity with fiduciary principles and prudent investment concepts
  • General understanding of the tax code

Licenses/Certifications:
  • CFA / CFP preferred
  • SIE, Series 7 required - or ability to obtain
  • Series 63, 65, or 66 required - or ability to obtain

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $191,500 -$277,200 annual salary range
  • Bonus potential up to 50% of base pay
  • Compensation and bonus are commensurate with experience, performance and/or firm profitability
