Position Summary

This position serves as the outage job sponsor, technical support lead, managed contract project manager, and work activity manager for Steam Generator maintenance within the protected nuclear area. The role is the subject matter expert and primary field contact for maintenance issues, responsible for analyzing problems, coordinating resolution with supporting groups, and ensuring safe, timely execution. Responsibilities include supplemental workforce planning, budgeting, material and equipment cost coordination, technical direction, and post-outage critique.

Responsibilities -SG Job Sponsor
  • Serve as the Site SME, outage job sponsor, and single point of contact for Steam Generator outage activities.
  • Function as Implementation Manager for SG outage activities, providing technical direction, work coordination, and field support.
  • Prepare annual budgets, workforce plans, outage schedules, vendor proposals, and material/equipment cost estimates.
  • Oversee supplemental and station personnel, including workforce numbers, roles, training, expectations, safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence.
  • Initiate supplemental worker requisitions and reinforce accountabilities for station and supplemental resources.
  • Coordinate with Work Management and supporting organizations to plan, execute, and critique outage work.
  • Perform assessments, troubleshooting, root cause analyses, OOT reviews, and field observations to resolve complex issues and improve program performance.
  • Develop and implement processes for first-time or complex evolutions, including pre-outage communication and post-outage lessons learned.


Required/Basic Qualifications
  • High School/GED degree
  • 8 years related work experience


Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience with strong planning, prioritization, scheduling, and execution skills.
  • Previous experience providing technical direction in the assigned area of expertise.
  • Leadership ability to provide work direction and reinforce accountability.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective interaction with technicians, craft personnel, peers, engineers, vendors, and management.
  • Confined Space Supervisor, Clearance Holder, and Independent FME Monitor qualifications.
  • Prior Radiation Protection and Alara experience
  • Experience using plant drawings and common business systems, including Work Management, CAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes, regulations, responsibilities, and work environments.

Working Conditions
  • 25%+ Travel Required
  • Office and field/industrial environments, with frequent plant visits required.
  • Online schedule is typically 4-10s; outage schedule is typically 6-12s.
  • Response outside normal business hours, including weekends, evenings, or shift staffing, may be required for emergent issues.

Special Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Protected Area

Working Conditions
  • The individual typically works in an office environment, with prolonged sitting in front of a computer.
  • Regular online schedule is 4-10's (but response outside of business hours, including weekends, evenings or shift staffing for emergent issues maybe required) and outage schedule is 6-12's.
  • Plant visits are required and may constitute 50% of the time during outages.
  • Individual may be subject to temperature extremes, noise and radiation exposure. Individual may be expected to climb and/or crawl during observations and be subject to extreme heights.

Specific Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Operating Nuclear Station Environment
  • 8 years of work-related experience (i.e. technical/Maintenance or Engineering), demonstrating broad technical knowledge in related areas of expertise
