Reporting to the Director of Tax, you'll join Adobe's collaborative and innovative tax team and play a critical role in the preparation and reporting of the quarterly and annual income tax provision, along with related planning and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll Do - Lead the end-to-end preparation and detailed review of the quarterly and annual consolidated income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate (ETR) analysis, and supporting workpapers.
- Manage the identification, assessment, and documentation of uncertain tax positions (ASC 740-10 / FIN 48), including reserve analysis and roll-forward schedules
- Prepare and review deferred tax asset and liability schedules, valuation allowance analysis, and tax account reconciliations; monitor and communicate the impact of tax law changes on the provision
- Partner with accounting, FP&A, and legal teams to gather data and ensure accurate financial statement presentation of income taxes, including footnote disclosures for 10-Q and 10-K filings
- Mentor and coach team members, providing technical training and guidance
- Develop and maintain quarterly ETR forecasts and communicate provision results and key drivers to senior leadership and external auditors
- Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy
What you need to succeed - Minimum 10 years of corporate income tax experience, with at least 3 years of hands-on ASC 740 income tax provision experience at a public accounting firm and/or large multinational company.
- Deep expertise in ASC 740 accounting for income taxes, including deferred tax accounting, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and interim reporting
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and concisely to tax and non-tax professionals
- High attention to detail with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a collaborative and team-building approach
- Exceptional multitasker with initiative, upbeat demeanor, and ability to stay organized and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word; experience with OneSource Tax Provision strongly preferred
Expected Pay Range:Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $136,700 -- $254,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the pay range for this position is $175,600 - $254,200
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
