Job Description

Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) is a global function, responsible for making the right credit and fraud risk decisions that uphold operational excellence, drive growth, and accelerate innovation across American Express. CFR combines technology and infrastructure with new computing techniques to make better risk decisions and provide real-time customer communications and fraud servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end Collections capabilities within the Risk Management ecosystem, defining business requirements, driving solution design, and ensuring successful delivery of product enhancements and new initiatives.
  • Partner with Risk Strategy, Product, Technology, Architecture, and Operations teams to translate business objectives into scalable product solutions that balance customer experience, risk controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog and roadmap by defining features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones aligned to business priorities and strategic goals.
  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of business rules and decisioning capabilities, leveraging low-code/no-code platforms and ensuring adherence to governance, risk, and control requirements.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and cross-functional execution, facilitating requirement workshops, resolving dependencies, communicating progress, and ensuring alignment across business and technology partners.
  • Identify opportunities for product, process, and customer experience improvements through data analysis, business insights, and feedback from stakeholders, and translate findings into actionable enhancements.
  • Support product strategy and roadmap development by evaluating business needs, market trends, emerging technologies, and risk management opportunities, and contributing recommendations for future capabilities.
  • Champion AI-driven and automation solutions to streamline operational processes, improve decision quality, accelerate time-to-market, and enhance overall product effectiveness.


Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Fraud Risk, Credit Risk, Decisioning Platforms, Financial Services, Payments, or Risk Technology domains.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms, business rule management systems, or workflow automation tools.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled products, decisioning systems, or automation solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools
  • Experience partnering with globally distributed teams and managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • SAFe, Agile, Product Owner, or Product Management certifications are a plus.
  • Master's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
