POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior General Ledger Manager to join our team at Circle K. As the Senior General Ledger Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance across our organization.  As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in general ledger accounting and a proven track record of managing successful periodic/monthly accounting closes for a large organization.

You will work closely with our finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. You will actively engage in planning and process improvement. You will engage in the SOX and Financial audits and conduct detailed research and analytical functions to solve complex issues while working closely with the various other Finance/Accounting teams and Operations teams. You will support and manage company goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service, management, and leadership.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the General Ledger team in addition to monitoring and evaluating performance.
  • Strategic analysis of business operations to effectively implement innovative process improvements.
  • Attend frequent meetings and advise/assist Management on complex accounting issues, accounting controls, acquisition/divestitures, programs, and policy changes.
  • Provide assistance and recommendations to Management in developing and implementing General Ledger policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve General Ledger Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
  • Manage periodic closing process and various reporting requirements.
  • Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, coordinating, and posting adjustments.
  • Manage and maintain internal controls and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and manage the General Ledger portion of year-end financial statement audit.
  • Provide guidance for PDI Enterprise (ERP) and Blackline configurations and settings.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements, policies and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, policies and governmental regulations, rendering opinions and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
