Job Description:

As a Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager at Mars you will partner closely with the Associate Director and Sourcing Managers to drive development & implementation of sub-category buying strategies and optimization of resources. You'll manage regional initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships, while also driving standardization and automation. Ownership of sub-category spend on a global basis will be key, as will heavy cross-functional collaboration and close partnership with key stakeholders.

This role is responsible for the strategic procurement of external manufacturing, specifically contract manufacturing for Mars Snacking North America. The job holder will work with cross functional stakeholders and suppliers to deliver value for money and ensure supply chain continuity through implementation of an external manufacturing sourcing strategy, supplier development and supply chain optimization. This role will leverage procurement expertise, risk management and relationship management skills and take ownership of the long-term category strategy.

What are we looking for?

  • 8+ years of procurement experience.
  • A passion for developing strong relationships with supplier and cross functional stakeholders both domestically and internationally.
  • Bachelors degree at a minimum.


What will be your key responsibilities?

You will recommend and implement supply base strategy, including assessing and developing suppliers. Benchmarking, leading RFP activity and driving the qualification/implantation of new suppliers. You will also manage supplier governance, including supplier performance auditing.
Direct oversight of $250M in spend.

You will be responsible at a minimum for:

  • Strategic sourcing for contract manufacturing
  • Develop and implement contract manufacturing sourcing strategy
  • Identify and develop a supply base
  • Recommend business allocation
  • Manage price, supply, service, legal and intellectual property risks
  • Forecast price volatility, define means to protect the business against the volatility and manage variance
  • Identify and deliver cost savings initiatives and cash improvements
  • Drive supply chain optimization
  • Supplier relationship management

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 119,040.00 - USD 163,680.00
