Overview

Sr. Manager, Client Base Acquisitions will support Paychex's Payroll Acquisition strategy by driving client base acquisitions from local, regional payroll service bureau organizations. The position will work with various functional leaders to execute strategies and actions that will drive incremental business to Paychex, resulting in increased client unit count and revenue growth for the company. This individual will have a key role in all facets of the client base acquisition lifecycle including definition of strategy, opportunity sourcing, confirmatory due diligence, negotiation of key terms and documentation, transaction closing and subsequent post-closing activities including the onboarding/conversion and upsell/retention of acquired client bases.

Responsibilities

  • Development & Execution of Strategy: drive net-client growth by implementing a comprehensive strategy and plan for identifying and closing client base acquisitions of local, regional payroll service bureau organizations.
  • Channel & Pipeline Management: work closely with the Principal, Payroll Acquisitions to develop and manage a targeted list of client base acquisition targets through prospecting and discovery while fostering relationships with owners of local, regional payroll service bureau organizations and other industry centers of influence.
  • Collaboration & Communication: drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring our internal partners (corporate development, finance, risk, legal, operations, sales, credit, HR, and marketing) understand our new strategy, and our need for their support in making the strategy successful across the entire transaction lifecycle from origination through post-closing activities.
  • Reporting & Leadership: implement communication strategies to produce effective communication of program information, including results, opportunities/expectations, promotions/campaigns, and policies/procedures to all involved parties, including (but not limited to) corporate development, finance, risk, legal, operations, sales, credit, HR, and marketing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing - Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, mergers & acquisitions, sales leadership, channel management, business development with P&L responsibility in the human capital management, payroll services, banking, private equity or related industries.


Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $114,100 - $179,300 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
