Full Job Description
The Sr Manager, Business Insights leads a team responsible for delivering core reporting, dashboards, and actionable insights that enable data-driven decisions for Generics Programs & Products. This role operates in a highly matrixed environment-including partners in Technology, Program Management, Pricing, Competitive & Business Intelligence, Deal Pricing, FP&A, CPT, and Product Management-to align KPI definitions, prioritize reporting enhancements, and improve data quality and governance. The Sr Manager drives execution through clear team routines, service-level expectations, and a practical reporting roadmap, while influencing stakeholders across the organization to ensure timely, accurate, and business-relevant insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Generics Programs Business Insights team to deliver core reporting and market insights that support Generics business decisions. Guide analysis of customer and market performance, including leakage, lost savings, pricing performance (unit, margin), and campaign lift. Ensure the team translates operational signals into clear insights and narratives for segment leaders.
  • Achieve deliverables through defined SLAs, quality standards, and success metrics.
  • Partner with Program Management, McKesson Technology, Competitive & Business Intelligence, Pricing Insights & Intelligence, Deal Pricing, FP&A, Product Management, and CPT to translate KPI, market, and customer insights into recommendations and actions that support Generics growth. Provide regular updates and materials for leadership reviews and planning forums.
  • Provide people leadership for a team of individual contributors by setting clear goals, coaching performance, and supporting development in a fast-paced Generics Programs and Products environment.
  • Translate Generics Programs and Products priorities into a practical reporting and insights roadmap for the team, including what will be delivered, when, and how success will be measured.
  • Oversee KPI and customer compliance reporting (e.g., monthly KPI reporting, value tracking, and executive dashboards) by coordinating day-to-day with McKesson Technology to deliver and enhance reporting solutions. Ensure customer-specific reporting (leakage, savings, performance) and consolidated value trackers are accurate, timely, and aligned to agreed definitions. Establish and execute recurring audit/validation routines and track key risks and opportunities for follow-up with Program partners.
  • Guide the team in building and maintaining dashboards and recurring reports with improved data quality, automation, and documentation in partnership with McKesson Technology. Define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and ensure solutions are scalable and support the Generics portfolio's ongoing reporting and insight needs.
  • Lead the team's support for annual Generics planning and P&L analysis through forecasting support, variance analysis, and attribution analysis (e.g., deflation vs. mix). Provide analysis and materials that support QBR development and inform ongoing pricing decisions.


Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data & Analytics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) discipline, or equivalent experience required
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, or related field preferred


Certifications
  • Relevant analytics/BI and/or AI-related certifications are a plus.


Critical Skills
  • Typically 9+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, reporting/analytics, and KPI/financial performance measurement, including demonstrated success translating business needs into reporting requirements and insights
  • 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience leading individual contributors (e.g., analysts) and delivering results through a matrixed environment by influencing stakeholders without direct authority
  • Hands-on expertise with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel and PowerPoint to create executive-ready materials.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and querying (e.g., SQL; platforms such as Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Experience partnering with technology/data engineering teams to improve data quality, automate reporting, and maintain documentation and governance.
  • Strong financial and KPI acumen (P&L drivers, variance analysis, unit/margin metrics) with the ability to translate findings into actions.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator; able to influence without authority and tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; experience applying automation/AI-enabled capabilities is a plus when paired with appropriate controls and governance.
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, generics, or large-scale B2B pricing environment experience is preferred.


Working Conditions

Environment
  • Work is primarily performed at a computer workstation, utilizing standard office equipment and software. May include extended periods of focused computer work, virtual meetings, and collaboration across time zones.


Physical Requirements
  • Remaining in a seated position for prolonged periods while working at a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, mouse use, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to view and read information on a computer screen for extended periods.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching within the workspace.
  • Ability to lift and move light materials (typically up to 10 lbs.) such as a laptop, reports, or small office supplies


Travel
  • Up to 10% travel may be required (e.g., team meetings, planning sessions, stakeholder workshops, or business reviews).


This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
