The role exists to ensure technical excellence throughout pre-sales activities to contract execution, serving as a bridge between the company, its customers, and vendors. It contributes to the organization by optimizing system designs to enhance profitability and reduce risk, driving an aggressive roadmap for future orders and commitments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead integration efforts and technical alignment with various vendors to propose complete solutions.
- Serve as a senior individual contributor, transitioning to a managerial role to build and oversee the project engineering team.
- Act as the technical authority for customer-interface documentation and presentations.
- Lead all project engineering activities and escalations, releasing technical documents for integration, commissioning, and operation of assets.
- Generate high-value documentation templates, including single line diagrams and detailed scope of work documents.
- Drive value engineering through cost reduction efforts and system optimization sizing analysis.
- Participate in development activities to achieve high serviceability standards for products and supporting technical documents.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or computer science) or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years in a technical and engineering capacity, with strong experience in the BESS industry focusing on utility-scale projects or energy storage system design and project management.
- Demonstrated success in a matrixed organizational environment, leveraging influence and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and experience with power electronics and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with safety standards like NFPA 855 and electrical safety standards such as NEC.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; data analysis software knowledge is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
