Position Description:

This role will require someone at our client site 5 days a week in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, or Dallas, TX.

CGI is looking to hire a Sr Kafka Springboot developer specializing in building secure, scalable, and high performance RESTful and event driven APIs to work on projects for one of the largest financial institutions in US in a challenging technical environment and gain exposure of advanced tools and technology suites.
Duties and Responsibilities:

. Design, develop, and maintain scalable event driven microservices using Spring Boot and Confluent Kafka.
. Design and develop RESTful APIs that integrate with Kafka based systems.
. Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins for efficient API and microservice delivery.
. Manage and automate deployments on OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
. Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate APIs and Kafka streams into various applications.
. Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to event driven microservices performance and Kafka message processing.
. Translates detailed requirements into functional system designs.
. Work closely with internal and external design, business, and technical counterparts
. Research and recommend functional libraries to expedite development

Requirements:
Minimum 6+ years overall experience

. 5+ years of experience with Enterprise Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful API design principles
. 4+ years of hands on experience with Confluent/Apache Kafka and event driven architectures
. Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, topics, partitions, and consumer groups
. Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot Experience with event serialization formats (JSON, Avro)
. Familiarity with Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and SQL
. Knowledge of common Kafka patterns such as dead letter queues, error handling, and retry mechanisms.
. Experience with microservices architecture and design patterns.
. Proficiency in CI/D tools and DevOps methodologies, particularly Jenkins and pipeline automation
. Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
. Proficiency in version control systems (e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub)
. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
. Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capabilities

Preferred Skills:

. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
. Knowledge of end to end tracing and observability tools and application performance monitoring
. Experience with tools like SonarQube
. Total experience in required sk111s (years); 8+ years.
. Works independently within a team environment in one of the applications
. Proficiency in using Co Pilot for coding efficiency
. Experience using Agile methodologies for developing application
