About the role:The Senior Analyst, Inventory Planning is responsible for leading strategic inventory management and SLOB reduction to ensure optimal working capital. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:- Develop and maintain an audit-compliant SLOB (Slow-Moving and Obsolete) report to support inventory health assessments across Sales, Operations, and Finance.
- Communicate SLOB findings with clear root cause analysis and corrective actions to mitigate future inventory risks.
- Lead cross-functional reviews with Sales and Commercial Finance to offload or repurpose excess inventory profitably.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to leadership to drive strategic decisions around inventory aging and obsolescence.
- Oversee provisioning and approvals for all write-off requests in alignment with corporate policy.
- Work with supply and material planning to ensure transitions are accurately projected to drive minimal waste for each project.
- EOL (End of life) management of finished goods and raw materials.
Inventory Projections
- Generate monthly inventory projections for distribution to Finance and Unilever Core Teams.
- Identify and drive opportunities for inventory reduction.
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Procurement, and Supply Planning to analyze and resolve gaps between projected and actual inventory levels.
- Anticipate and incorporate the impact of future business initiatives, promotions, and product transitions into inventory planning.
Leadership and Strategic Impact
- Serve as the subject matter expert for inventory and waste.
- Lead cross-functional governance meetings to ensure alignment on inventory performance, risk management, and recovery actions.
- Support digital transformation initiatives by implementing tools and systems that improve visibility, forecasting, and reporting efficiency.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, coaching team members and driving standardization across processes.
Qualifications:- At least 3 years experience in Supply Chain or Planning related roles, preferably in a CPG
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems, Microsoft Dynamics and Kinaxis is a plus
- Strong verbal communication and demonstrated written proficiency to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to interact with cross functional stakeholders and colleagues in a thoughtful and attentive manner
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, think tactically as well as strategically. Demonstrating objectivity, delivering results, and showing initiative
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organized and dependable
- Comfortable working in a very diverse, fast-paced environment, adhering to tight deadlines
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Supply Chain, Operations, Mathematics, or related field)
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel
