Job Summary

The Senior Field Engineer at PROPWR is a technical leader responsible for overseeing field execution, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting the installation and operation of power generation systems. This role serves as the primary field-level subject matter expert (SME) and a key liaison between Engineering and Operations, ensuring reliable performance of PROPWR assets across customer applications.

The Senior Field Engineer provides advanced technical support, leads commissioning activities, mentors field personnel, and drives continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and field execution standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, commissioning, and startup of PROPWR power generation equipment and systems
  • Serve as the on-site technical lead during deployment and critical operational activities
  • Direct field troubleshooting efforts to resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
  • Support field operations teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable execution
  • Serve as the primary SME for power systems, controls, and equipment performance in the field
  • Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and engineering documentation
  • Provide real-time support to field personnel and escalate critical issues as needed
  • Support system testing, validation, and performance optimization efforts
  • Act as a key interface between Engineering and Operations, ensuring alignment between design and field execution
  • Provide detailed feedback to engineering teams on equipment performance, failure modes, and improvement opportunities
  • Support implementation of engineering changes, upgrades, and system improvements in the field
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve technical challenges
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for recurring or critical equipment failures
  • Develop and refine troubleshooting procedures, field best practices, and technical documentation
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve system performance, uptime, and operational efficiency
  • Support development of training materials and field support resources
  • Mentor and support junior Field Engineers and Technicians, providing technical guidance and leadership
  • Assist in training field personnel on equipment, troubleshooting methods, and safety practices
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence in the field
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent field experience considered
  • 5+ years of experience in power generation, oilfield services, data center infrastructure, or similar field-based role
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and supporting complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Experience leading commissioning, startup, or field execution activities preferred
  • Strong knowledge of power generation systems (engines, turbines, electrical distribution, or controls) preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in real time
  • Proven ability to lead in field environments and support cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with field personnel, engineers, and customers
  • Self-driven, organized, and capable of operating independently in remote or high-pressure environments
