About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Design Engineer to join our growing team at Southco, a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative hardware products. In this role, you will play a key role in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept creation to manufacturing, contributing to the success of our next generation of hardware solutions.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, and manufacturing to translate market needs and customer requirements into innovative and manufacturable product designs.
  • Utilize your creativity and engineering expertise to develop detailed product designs, including mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software.
  • Conduct thorough design reviews, perform simulations, and analyze potential issues to ensure product functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in the prototyping process, testing prototypes, and refining designs based on test results.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure smooth production ramp-up and address any production challenges.
  • Stay current with the latest design trends, technologies, and materials relevant to the hardware industry.
