Full Job Description

The Senior NetworkEngineeris responsible for the security, design and performance of the Companys computer networks, and the integration of alltelecomservices and devices. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, optimizing and supporting all Network (wired and wireless), Voice and Security hardware, software, and communication links. The Engineer will also provide 2nd and 3rd tier support to resolve business critical network and security problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all network and security systems across a large-scale enterprise while maintaining the availability and integrity of these systems.

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.

  • Resolve escalated network issues, provide technical support, and guide junior engineers in troubleshooting

  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.

  • Assist with the network integration of multiple companies we acquired.

  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance.

  • Create regular reports; provide the necessary analytics to make technical and business decisions.

  • Effectively manages multiple projects involving installations of infrastructure software and hardware.

  • Ensures all issues regarding system or network automated alerts are logged, tracked, and resolved; manage alerts and events through and the enterprise trouble ticketing tool.

  • Follow the change management process to production systems with regards to physical or system configuration updates

  • Make process and systems improvement.

  • Develops and maintains capacity planning analysis, recommendations, and procedures.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network infrastructure, including diagrams, procedures, and configurations.

  • Resolve operational issues through support tickets and alerts from the network and system monitoring tools.

  • Stay current with new technology and tools.

  • Ensure global switching and routing consistency and troubleshoot where necessary.

  • Configure, manage, and administer routers, firewalls, switches, and other IP based communication equipment.

  • Track and log all activity, both incidents and resolutions, to system users

  • Coordinates with the other Information Technology team members to build a knowledge base.

  • Work with cross-function organization teams to ensure the coordination of resources for technology projects and that all services have needed information regarding the implementation of technology

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 10+ years as an enterprise Network Engineer w/Datacenter experience.

  • 10+ years of Cisco Nexus 7k,9k, Catalyst routers and switches

  • 5+ years of Fortinet Firewall experience. FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer

  • Preferred - CCNE, CCNA, or CCNP

  • Strong experience with Multiple routing protocols

PREFERRED SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: Extensive experience (10+ years) in network engineering, including experience with network hardware and software, routing protocols, and security technologies.

  • Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience with various networking technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto.
