Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Solutions Architecture to lead Data Center Solutions with a primary focus on second-level service management and operational excellence. This leader will be accountable for defining how Supermicro's data center offerings are positioned, delivered, supported, and improved after deployment-not only how they are sold.

The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of data center operations, including infrastructure lifecycle, service delivery, incident and problem management, SLA performance, and the operational needs of CSP, NCP, and large-scale cloud environments. This role partners closely with customers and internal engineering, service, sales, and marketing teams to translate real-world data center operations into product requirements, service models, and a clear roadmap.

The position is based at Supermicro's headquarters in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the product and service strategy for Data Center Solutions, with emphasis on second-level service management, operational readiness, and post-deployment customer success
  • Lead engagement with customers on data center operations requirements, including availability, maintainability, support escalation, capacity, and service-level expectations
  • Partner with sales, marketing, service, and cross-functional engineering teams in pre-sales discussions, technical workshops, and industry events
  • Represent Supermicro in promoting Data Center Solutions to CSP, NCP, and cloud customers, with a clear point of view on how products perform in live data center operations
  • Work closely with customers to define and refine product and service specifications; drive engineering teams to meet operational and service-management expectations, not only feature requirements
  • Lead research and analysis of data center technology, customer operating models, and competitor service offerings to shape portfolio strategy and roadmap
  • Define and communicate business and service strategies; align day-to-day cross-functional work to those strategies
  • Build, mentor, and lead teams capable of operating in a fast-changing data center and cloud environment
  • Drive process improvements across product management and second-level service management, including escalation handling, root-cause feedback loops, and operational metrics


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline; Master's degree is a plus
  • 17+ years of experience in data center infrastructure environment, including at least 8 years leading large teams
  • In-depth understanding of data center operations, including compute, storage, networking, head-node architecture, facility-adjacent operational constraints, and how large-scale deployments are run day to day
  • Proven experience in second-level service management or closely related operational service models (incident/problem management, SLA ownership, escalation design, and feedback into product improvement)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud use cases, architectures, frameworks, and data center components
  • Experience engaging tier-one customers with large CSP or hyperscale deployments, Understand/leading IT infrastructure, daily operation, networking solution, virtualization a must
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead teams through complex, ambiguous operational and product issues
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the organization and influence needed to lead cross-functional teams to measurable business and service outcomes
  • experience with Supermicro product solution is a plus


Salary Range

$248,000 - $320,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
