Full Job Description

We're adding a Sr. Director of Infrastructure to strengthen the leadership bench under our VP of Infrastructure. This is a versatile senior technology leadership role. The successful candidate will lead one or more of our four core infrastructure disciplines Network, Server & Storage, Identity, Database & Cloud, or Digital Workplace based on their experience and the needs of the organization, working in close partnership with the other Infrastructure leaders.

This role is designed for a leader who can operate across the breadth of enterprise infrastructure, step into the organization's highest priorities, and grow into broader enterprise leadership over time. It offers significant visibility, a seat at the Infrastructure leadership table, and the opportunity to shape the long-term direction of Oshkosh's infrastructure strategy alongside the VP of Infrastructure.

LOCATION

This role is based at Oshkosh Corporation's Global Headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where our Digital Technology leadership team partners closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders. The position requires five days per week onsite to foster collaboration and accelerate enterprise transformation initiatives. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Enterprise infrastructure at Oshkosh is evolving beyond traditional operations spanning cloud modernization, AI-enabled operations, platform engineering, intelligent automation, identity and access management, and resilient global connectivity in support of digital manufacturing, connected products, and enterprise applications to name a few. This role gives a strong infrastructure leader the chance to make an immediate impact while building the cross-functional credibility to lead the broader organization in the future.

YOUR IMPACT

You will serve as the direct leader for one or more of the following functional teams, partnering closely with the VP of Infrastructure and fellow Directors across the Infrastructure leadership team:

  • Network Engineering enterprise network strategy, connectivity, segmentation, and resiliency across global manufacturing, engineering, and business locations.

  • Server & Storage Engineering compute, storage, and data center platforms supporting mission-critical enterprise platforms.

  • Identity, Database & Cloud IAM, database platforms, and multi-cloud strategy across Azure Commercial, Azure Government (GCC High), AWS, GCP, and future platforms.

  • Digital Workplace end-user computing, collaboration platforms, and the technology experience for Oshkosh's global workforce.

Regardless of initial leadership portfolio, you'll be expected to build fluency across all four disciplines over time and contribute to enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy.

Enterprise Strategy

  • Contribute to the enterprise infrastructure strategy aligned to Oshkosh's long-term business objectives, in close partnership with the VP of Infrastructure.

  • Translate business priorities into technology investments and architecture decisions within your functional area.

  • Support multi-year technology roadmaps spanning cloud modernization, infrastructure transformation, automation, and AI adoption.

Operational & Technical Leadership

  • Advance platform engineering, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code, self-service platforms, and modern operating models within your area of ownership.

  • Drive FinOps governance and cost optimization while balancing innovation, scalability, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure infrastructure services meet enterprise expectations for availability, scalability, performance, compliance, and cybersecurity.

  • Modernize infrastructure through observability, resilient connectivity, and AIOps capabilities appropriate to your functional area.

Organizational Leadership

  • Lead a team of managers, architects, engineers, and technical specialists within your assigned function, while building a strong leadership pipeline.

  • Foster a high-performing, people-first culture focused on coaching, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Partner closely with infrastructure peers to ensure a cohesive, enterprise-wide infrastructure organization.

  • Develop succession plans and leadership capability within your team and demonstrate the range and readiness to take on broader Infrastructure leadership responsibility over time.

Business Leadership

  • Own operating plans, investment strategy, financial forecasting, supplier partnerships, and technology portfolio management within your function.

  • Influence enterprise decision-making through executive communication, strategic planning, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Champion organizational change while helping business leaders successfully adopt modern technology capabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline required.

  • 12+ years of progressive enterprise technology leadership experience spanning across cloud platforms, compute and storage platforms, enterprise networking, identity/access management, or digital workplace/end-user technology.

  • 8+ years leading leaders, including managers, architects, or senior engineering teams within large, complex global organizations.

  • Proven experience developing high-performing technical organizations while leading through enterprise transformation and organizational change.

  • Demonstrated versatility across infrastructure disciplines or a strong track record in one discipline paired with clear ability to learn adjacent domains quickly.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating and capital budgets, technology investment planning, vendor strategy, and ROI optimization.

  • Executive presence with exceptional communication, influence, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to translate complex technology strategy into measurable business value for executive stakeholders.

  • Experience applying enterprise governance frameworks such as ITIL and enterprise risk management to improve operational performance and service delivery.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Executive leadership experience within a Fortune 500 organization.

  • Experience supporting regulated industries or government environments.

  • Experience with Azure Commercial and Azure Government (GCC High).

  • Industry certifications in cloud architecture, enterprise networking, enterprise architecture, or related technologies.

  • Experience leading Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code, AIOps, NetOps and AI-enabled infrastructure initiatives.

  • Experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines (network, server/storage, identity/cloud, digital workplace), rather than a single narrow specialty.

  • A demonstrated interest in growing into broader enterprise infrastructure leadership responsibility over time.
