About the Role:

As the Senior Director, Enterprise Transformation, you will play a critical leadership role in building and driving Grocery Outlet's Transformation Office. You will help translate the company's 3-year strategic plan into a portfolio of prioritized transformation initiatives and enterprise workstreams.

In this role, you will help define which initiatives are managed through the Transformation Office, establish the operating structure and governance needed to support execution, and drive measurable business outcomes across cross-functional initiatives. This is a highly execution-oriented leadership role focused on converting strategy into delivered impact.

You will bring strong strategy-to-execution capabilities, enterprise program leadership experience, and the ability to influence across functions and leadership levels. This role requires a hands-on builder mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The Sr. Director, Enterprise Transformation will report to the SVP of Strategy & Office of the CEO.

Responsibilities Include:

Strategy Translation & Initiative Definition
  • Partner with the SVP, Strategy and senior leaders to translate the company's strategic priorities into a clear portfolio of transformation initiatives and workstreams.
  • Help define which initiatives sit within the Transformation Office based on enterprise impact, complexity, and value potential.
  • Support initiative prioritization, sequencing, and tradeoff decisions to ensure focus on the highest-value work.

Transformation Office Build & Management
  • Help establish and operate a lean, high-impact Transformation Office with clear governance, operating rhythms, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Create and maintain initiative charters, milestone plans, interdependency tracking, KPI dashboards, and executive reporting materials.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination across initiative leaders, Finance, business owners, and executive sponsors.

Execution & Delivery
  • Drive execution of cross-functional transformation initiatives across areas including merchandising, supply chain, store operations, customer experience, digital, and other enterprise priorities.
  • Identify risks, remove roadblocks, escalate critical decisions, and maintain momentum across initiatives to improve speed, accountability, and execution quality.
  • Support initiative leaders in developing workplans, solving complex business challenges, and ensuring disciplined follow-through.

Value Realization & Performance Tracking
  • Partner closely with Finance and business leaders to define initiative baselines, quantify value opportunities, and track realized business impact.
  • Ensure initiatives have clearly defined KPIs, ownership, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor initiative performance against plan and recommend course corrections when needed.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Change Enablement
  • Build strong partnerships across corporate functions, field leadership, and operator-facing teams to support alignment and initiative adoption.
  • Support change management, communications, and leadership updates to ensure transformation efforts are coordinated, practical, and sustainable.
  • Help create transparency and alignment across stakeholders with competing priorities.

About The Pay:
  • Base Salary Range: $195,000 - $225,000 Annually

About You
  • You have 8-12 years of experience in strategy, transformation, operations, consulting, or general management roles.
  • You have experience leading enterprise transformation offices, strategic transformation initiatives, or large-scale program management offices.
  • You have a proven track record leading or enabling large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with measurable operational or financial impact.
  • You have experience within retail, grocery, consumer products, or multi-unit environments.
  • A combination of consulting and operating experience is highly preferred.
  • You are able to translate strategic direction into practical execution plans and operational outcomes.
  • You have strong program management, prioritization, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • You bring strong financial acumen and can understand value creation opportunities, business cases, and P&L implications.
  • You can synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, executive communications, and actionable plans.
  • You are effective at influencing and driving alignment across functions without direct authority.
  • You have a high ownership mentality with a strong bias for action and results.
  • You are a structured thinker who can simplify ambiguity and drive clarity across stakeholders.
