About the Team
The Revenue Accounting team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of UKG's global revenue accounting and reporting. As a critical partner to the business, the team supports one of the industry's leading HCM and workforce technology platforms, managing the accounting and operational processes that underpin billions of dollars in recurring subscription and professional services revenue.
Partnering closely with Technical Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Sales Operations, Deal Desk, Professional Services, Legal, IT, and Executive Leadership, the team plays a central role in supporting UKG's continued growth while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and a strong control environment.
The organization is focused on driving operational excellence through automation, process optimization, data-driven insights, and strategic ownership of key revenue systems and processes.
About the Role
As Senior Director of Revenue Accounting, you will be a key leader within the Global Finance organization, responsible for overseeing revenue accounting operations, revenue systems governance, and close activities across UKG's subscription and professional services businesses.
This role requires deep expertise in ASC 606, SaaS revenue recognition, professional services accounting, revenue systems, and financial reporting. You will serve as the business owner for UKG's Revenue Management System (RevPro), driving process improvements, system optimization, and strong financial controls while providing executive-level insights and leadership throughout the close process.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead global revenue accounting operations, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and company accounting policies.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close activities, including revenue reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, reserves, and executive reporting.
• Serve as the business owner for RevPro, driving governance, enhancements, testing, controls, and strategic roadmap initiatives.
• Oversee revenue-related account reconciliations through BlackLine and ensure timely completion of close deliverables.
• Lead revenue and balance sheet flux analysis, identifying key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance on SaaS subscriptions, professional services, implementation services, training, contract modifications, and complex customer arrangements.
• Own SSP governance, analysis, and periodic reassessments to support ASC 606 compliance.
• Maintain a strong SOX-compliant control environment and build a strong partnership with external audit teams, ensuring transparent communication, proactive issue resolution, and efficient support of revenue-related audit procedures.
• Leverage large and complex datasets to drive insights, improve processes, and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Deliver executive-level reporting and communicate key revenue trends, risks, and accounting matters to senior leadership.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You
You are a strategic and operational finance leader with deep expertise in SaaS revenue accounting and a passion for building scalable processes, strong controls, and high-performing teams. You thrive in fast-paced, agile environments, are comfortable working with large volumes of data, and can effectively translate technical accounting matters into meaningful business insights for senior leaders.
What You Bring
• CPA required.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience within SaaS, cloud software, or technology companies.
• 10+ years of leadership experience managing managers and leading accounting organizations.
• Deep expertise in ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition principles.
• Strong understanding of professional services accounting, SSP methodologies, contract review, and complex revenue arrangements.
• Experience owning revenue close processes in a large-scale environment.
• Hands-on experience with RevPro or similar revenue automation platforms such as Zuora Revenue, SAP RAR, Oracle Revenue Management, or NetSuite ARM.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work effectively with large and complex datasets.
• Experience presenting financial results, accounting conclusions, and business insights to executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within a public technology or SaaS company.
• Big Four public accounting background.
• Experience leading revenue system implementations, upgrades, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience supporting global operations and multinational accounting environments.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or NetSuite.
The pay range for this position is $184,300.00 to $235,000. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
