The Sr. Business Intelligence Developer (BID) will support and promote the implementation of best practices in the areas of business intelligence health care quality and outcomes research and healthcare analytics The Sr. BID designs and develops business intelligence (BI) solutions to support quality, compliance and operational processes to support the Jefferson Ob/Gyn enterprise wide healthcare quality, services, implementation, and outcomes research. They assist with the development of the BI strategy and will be required to mentor other BI team members to help standardize work processes. Also, they work with data engineering personnel which will require an in-depth knowledge of BI data architecture methodology. Expertise utilizing healthcare electronic medical records for data extraction and analysis is requested, and ideally with EPIC

Also, they work with data engineering personnel which will require an in-depth knowledge of BI data architecture methodology.
Job Duties
- Leads High-Complexity and Enterprise-Level Solutions For health care quality/safety monitoring and outcomes research.
- Serves as a Domain Subject Matter Expert.
- Demonstrates Advanced Technical Expertise.
- Provides formal mentorship, oversees technical development, and reinforces best practices.
- Define highly complex business/clinical/education problems by meeting with clients to observe and understand current processes and the issues related to those processes. Provide written documentation of findings to share with the client and other IT colleagues.
- Gather highly complex system requirements by meeting with clients and researching existing technology to understand the business requirements and possible solutions for new applications.
- Identifies gaps, proposes solutions, and improves processes, governance, and data quality.
- Maintains databases and application system code.
- Write functional/technical specifications from the highly complex system requirements, putting them into functional and technical descriptions for use by programmers and business analysts to develop technical solutions.
- Develop/change data input, files/database structures, data transformation, algorithms, and data output by using appropriate computer language/tools to provide technical solutions for highly complex application development tasks.
- Document code and associated processes by adhering to development methodologies, adding code comments and appropriate documentation to various knowledge-base system(s) to simplify code maintenance and to improve support.
- Create and document highly complex test scenarios using the appropriate testing tools to validate and verify application functionality.
- Test all changes by using the appropriate highly complex test scenarios to ensure all delivered solutions work as expected and errors are handling in a meaningful way.
- Author and maintain documentation by writing audience-appropriate materials to serve as technical and/or end-user references.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- 5 years related work experience
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
