Responsibilities- Maintain, enhance, and support critical mainframe jobs that ingest data into the corporate data platform. Provide scheduled on-call support to ensure platform health, availability, and operational stability.
- Partner closely with product teams during discovery, analysis, development, and testing to deliver requirements effectively. Enhance mainframe jobs as needed to support organization-wide project initiatives.
- Lead modernization architecture and design planning by applying deep expertise in Cobol, DB2, VSAM, DB2 Utilities, JCL, SORT, TSO, DASD, Expeditor, File-Aid, Control-M, Topaz-ISPW, XLR Utilities to support target-state migration to Spark and Airflow.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code authored by others. Identify automation opportunities that improve operational stability, efficiency, and system reliability.
- Apply SDLC toolchain expertise, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale. Participate in technology training and knowledge transfer activities to strengthen team capability.
- Plan and Implement the DR exercises for Mainframe applications twice an year.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and troubleshooting sessions.
Qualifications- Atleast 10 Years of extensive hands on experience in mainframe technologies and tools, including Cobol, DB2, VSAM, DB2 Utilities, JCL, SORT, TSO, DASD, Expeditor, File-Aid, Control-M, Topaz-ISPW, XLR.
- Atleast 5 years of experience in scala, python, spark, and PL-SQL.
- Experience working on databases like Oracle, MS SQL, MaprDB, BigQuery.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale mainframe implementations and systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for Mainframe batch applications.
- Experience in financial services, large scala transactional systems.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Preferred
- Experience with Cloud Technologies like Google Cloud.
- Working knowledge of Jira, Rally.
- Experience in using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot.
