Sr. Cyber Security Analyst
SYSTEMTEC is seeking a for a hybrid Sr. Cyber Security Analyst opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. This role is a Senior Cyber Security Analyst will join the Cyber Threat Intelligence (SecOps) team, focusing primarily on Security Assessments and Penetration Testing . This role plans and executes security tests against applications, systems, and enterprise infrastructure to uncover vulnerabilities, simulate real-world attack scenarios, and validate risk before malicious actors can exploit them.
Required Qualifications of the Sr. Cyber Security Analyst:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- 8 years of job related technical experience to include: Linux and various penetration testing tools. (BurpSuite, MetaSploit, Nessus)
- Preferred Work Experience: Strong incident response experience in a medium to large sized enterprise. Experience interpreting and acting on cyber threat intelligence. Preferred Licenses and Certificates: CISA, CISM, CISSP.
- Strong analytical, data gathering and problem solving skills with experience analyzing network attacks.
- Understanding of system and network security, incident management, intrusion detection, log analysis, and related technologies.
- Ability to recognize and address new threats and security challenges as they arise.
- Ability to translate complex vulnerabilities into business-relevant risk and provide practical, understandable remediation guidance.
Responsibilities of the Sr. Cyber Security Analyst:
- This team is made up of highly motivated senior cybersecurity practitioners who bring deep hands-on experience in penetration testing, assessment, threat hunting, forensics, and security operations
- In this role you spend the day planning and executing security tests against applications, systems, and infrastructure to uncover vulnerabilities before attackers do.
- You will often review scope, analyze prior results, run scans, investigate weaknesses, and document evidence to determine real-world risk.
Work Location: Hybrid schedule with onsite work Tuesday through Thursday in Columbia, SC and remote work Monday and Friday.
