Full Job Description
Developer III - Full Stack Python/JSP for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will develop, test, enhance, and support applications and DevOps-focused tooling within a collaborative monitoring, observability, and automation environment. This role combines hands-on software development with platform administration, troubleshooting, integration, and production support to ensure reliable and efficient development pipelines.

Required Qualifications of the Developer III - Full Stack Python/JSP:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in application development, systems testing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated programming experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD and development pipeline technologies such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, DevOps Deploy, and GitHub.
  • Strong understanding of software development, quality assurance, integration, testing, and application support practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional 24/7 support needs.
  • Must be eligible for the required C2 clearance/eligibility process; a credit check is required during the pre-screening process.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Developer III - Full Stack Python/JSP:
  • Experience developing in multiple programming languages.
  • Experience integrating external APIs, particularly HTTP/RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
  • Experience administering, troubleshooting, or supporting DevOps and pipeline platforms in addition to writing code.
  • Familiarity with project management practices and experience working across multiple technology platforms.

Responsibilities of the Developer III - Full Stack Python/JSP:
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into functional designs, technical specifications, applications, automation, and supporting documentation.
  • Design, develop, compile, test, debug, implement, maintain, and enhance software applications and development pipeline tooling.
  • Build and maintain scripts, test code, integrations, and automation that improve development, deployment, monitoring, and observability processes.
  • Investigate production issues, identify root causes, recommend improvements, and coordinate the implementation of application or platform enhancements.
  • Create and maintain test data, documentation, workflow diagrams, technical procedures, and other materials required to support application quality and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve complex issues, maintain development standards, meet project timelines, and provide ongoing production support.

Work Location: Partial onsite schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite, with additional onsite presence as needed. Standard hours are 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with participation in an on-call rotation. Columbia, SC.
