The main core objective is to drive high-quality, reliable, and scalable automation solutions. This action involves translating business needs into technical solutions and fostering client trust. This role contributes to the overall growth and maturity of the consulting business.

Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. This position requires the willingness to travel up to 20-30 weeks per year on average across North America.

What you will do:

  • Support customers in building enterprise approaches that are scalable, optimally managed, and adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technical solutions.
  • Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies.
  • Design, create and deliver content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell (presales), service (consulting) and support (GSS) our cloud solutions at scale.
  • Participate in specific project workstreams, managing scope, timelines, and resources (including junior staff or client team members).
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk.
  • Maintain a high utilization target and contribute to the scoping, engagement delivery, and solution execution for new business opportunities.
  • Travel frequently (20-30 weeks per year) to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers.

What you will bring:

  • 3+ years of experience with delivering an implementation as part of a project team based on an architectural design.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a technical project, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work.
  • Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Willingness to actively mentor and coach junior consultants and TDP members, which could include detailed code reviews and transferring critical technical and consulting knowledge.
  • Clearly communicate technical progress, risks, and ROI to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • 2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.
  • Strong background in consultative customer engagement demonstrating both verbal and written communications skills, including experience presenting or demoing solutions to customer teams.
  • The ability to self-study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
  • Passion for Open Source, software, tooling, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools and how they can be applied within an organization.
  • Thorough (advanced) working knowledge and hands-on experience with Ansible, as well as high-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, Powershell and others in the space.
  • Intermediate level scripting (bash, python.)

Technical Skills:
  • Experience using and configuring Linux systems, and an understanding of configuration as code
  • Experience with scripting languages (YAML, Python, etc.)
  • Understanding of the advantages of automation in a complex environment
  • Experience using or configuring cloud technologies, including container management and/or orchestration

Desired Skills:
  • Previous exposure to or practical experience with Ansible Automation Platform is a plus for applicants.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and other GitOps type behaviors.
