The Opportunity

As the CNC Machining Process Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of our plant leadership team. You will lead the design and implementation of complex machining processes for very large, high-precision machined parts using state-of-the-art 4 and 5-axis CNC machines and advanced CAD/CAM tools.

In this role, you aren't just creating CNC programs; you are creating the processes for bringing complex designs to life for the world's most advanced semiconductor and aerospace companies. For a leader looking to grow, this position offers exciting day to day challenges and a path toward Senior Engineering or Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Technical Leadership
  • Responsible for CNC programming, work-holding design, in-process inspection routines, and the creation of accurate routers and work instructions.
  • NPI Ownership: Direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, collaborating with internal and external stake holders to ensure new products meet cost, schedule, and performance specs.
  • DFM Support: Act as a technical consultant to customers, utilizing best-in-class tools to provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Cost (DFC) feedback.
  • Quality by Design: Own the engineering processes that ensure part quality through robust process design, manual/automated in-process inspection routines, and strict adherence to production standards.

Operational Excellence
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce cycle times, increase first-pass yields, minimize setup times, and improve machine utilization.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain the accuracy of machining cycle times, manufacturing methods, and production documentation to meet cost and quality targets.
  • Problem Solving: Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) through structured problem-solving methods.
  • Technology Planning and Implementation: Select and deploy new CNC machinery and material handling equipment based on ROI; design plant layouts for optimal flow.

Team Management
  • KPI Management: Develop and maintain departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and improve organizational performance.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Support all activities associated with a product line, project, or related components.
  • Be a fully contributing member to the engineering team.
  • Provide engineering support to sustain product production in the CNC environment.
  • Provide content necessary to produce manufacturing documentation including Bill of Materials and Manufacturing Router Instructions.
  • Initiate and follow through to execution of all customer-driven and internal change control requirements.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in a precisionmachining manufacturing environment, with experience in the Semiconductor capital equipment market preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years working with CAD and CAM software. Mastercam and Solidworks a plus.
  • Working knowledge of various fusion and plating processes.
