Overview

Are you looking for a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth opportunity? Gilbane is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to beresponsible for a single line of insurance, supporting multiple Divisions. The Senior Specialist has advanced knowledge of insurance claims.This role will sit primarily in the office.

 

Responsibilities

Subcontractor Default Claims

  • Assists in the investigation, documentation, and administration of subcontractor default claims.
  • Reviews subcontract agreements, default notices, cure notices, performance bond information, and claim documentation.
  • Coordinates with project teams, legal counsel, insurers, consultants, and brokers to gather claim-related information.
  • Supports tracking and analysis of completion costs, back charges, delay impacts, and recovery opportunities associated with subcontractor default events.
  • Assists in developing claim submissions and supporting documentation for subcontractor default claims.

Builder's Risk Claims

  • Assists in the investigation, documentation, and administration of builder's risk claims arising from property damage, water intrusion, fire, weather events, theft, equipment loss, and other covered causes of loss.
  • Coordinates with project teams, insurance carriers, adjusters, forensic consultants, and brokers during claim investigations.
  • Reviews project cost information and supporting records to assist in preparation of proofs of loss and claim submissions.
  • Tracks claim status, carrier requests, reserves, recoveries, and claim-related costs throughout the life cycle of the claim.

Construction and Financial Analysis

    • Reviews project financial records, budgets, cost reports, change orders, schedule information, and supporting documentation related to construction claims.
    • Assists in identifying and documenting claim exposures, damages, mitigation efforts, and recovery opportunities.
    • Maintains accurate claim files and documentation supporting insurance recoveries and loss analyses.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in claims or other relevant industries
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Construction project management, project controls, construction accounting, risk management, insurance claims, subcontractor default claims, or builder's risk claim experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Prior experience handling subcontractor default insurance claims, performance bond claims, builder's risk claims, property damage claims, or other construction-related insurance claims is a plus.

  • Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function as an integral part of a team while being highly collaborative
  • Ability to coordinate efforts involving individuals from different geographic areas as well as external partners
  • Ability to understand issues quickly and follow through with a resolution
  • Ability to learn and understand Gilbanes insurance coverages
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Advanced problem solving, planning, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel and other critical RMIS software is essential

OPTION 1 6 Single location (.8 and 1.1 compa-ratio)

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

Option 2 6 Multiple office/tier locations (insert .8 compa-ratio of the lowest tier and 1.1 compa-ratio of the highest tier.)

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

The pay ranges from $XX,XXX.XX-$XXX,XXX.XX plus benefits and retirement program.

Option 3 - Nationwide/Remote Locations (insert .8 compa-ratio of the lowest tier and 1.1 compa-ratio of the highest tier.

This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office. Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

The pay ranges from $XX,XXX.XX-$XXX,XXX.XX plus benefits and retirement program.
