TITLE:  Business Systems Analyst, Data & Analytics 
DEPARTMENT:  Information Technology  
LOCATION:  Boston, MA
REPORTS: Product Manager, Data Analytics

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Help design, implement and support data analytics initiatives across private markets business units for and other departments across firm
•    Help support deal diligence / sourcing efforts involving use of big data / alternative data and data science tools & technology
•    Identify high-value AI use cases with business users, then prototype and deploy solutions — LLMs, agents, and automation — that accelerate analysis and decision-making; champion adoption of the tools and workflows that prove their value
•    Work with users to understand their data help design / build / support business intelligence dashboards 
•    Work with users to collect, validate and document data and reporting needs
•    Help with system selection or design of custom solutions to meet business needs
•    Work with vendors and development teams to design / implement / configure solutions  
•    Create documentation in support of business and technology requests (includes business/data requirements, data flows, data modeling, workflow context)
•    Facilitate implementation of business requirements for all technology initiatives by acting as a liaison between business users and development resources for both large and small-scale changes
•    Provide continuous evaluation of technology solutions and capabilities to ensure alignment with business objectives. Identify areas of risk, while monitoring the current environment, potential improvement areas, and the financial implications of those decisions
•    Participate in user acceptance testing and support system training / documentation
•    Form strong working relationships with both business and technical teams
•    Fulfill responsibilities related to production support as well as application development projects simultaneously
•    Engage in complex problem solving with both business users and development resources

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE: 
•    Prior experience with reporting, data analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI is required
•    Prior experience using Python for data analysis is strongly preferred 
•    Comfortable using large language models (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) day-to-day for data analysis and automation; working knowledge of prompt engineering and agentic / workflow-automation frameworks
•    Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or AI-native IDEs such as Cursor or Windsurf) and with extending AI through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and reusable skills a plus
•    Familiarity working within cloud native AWS serverless data and integration products
•    Prior experience in cloud data warehouse products like Snowflake is strongly preferred  
•    Prior coding or scripting experience strongly preferred
•    Hands on experience understanding business requirements, designing, prototyping, testing solutions and training users in an agile environment
•    Experience working in teams using agile software project management processes preferred 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
•    Bachelors or advanced degree in computer science, systems and/or finance 
•    Master’s Degree with concentration in technology or analytics preferred 
•    4+ years of relevant experience 
•    Experience with investment management, private equity, venture capital, alternatives investment / finance concepts / terminology and systems a plus
•    Experience with a functionally diverse, informed user base that demands high quality solutions
•    Self-motivated and willing to work, learn and take ownership in an energetic, fast paced team environment
•    Consulting background a plus
•    Strong interpersonal skills 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting & implementing applications 
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and iterations with several applications simultaneously 
•    Ability to perform various roles (e.g., business analyst, systems analyst, data analyst, product manager)
