You will be responsible for refining product designs, defining scope, and documenting epics, features, and user stories in an Agile environment. You will split their time between supporting a music publishing royalty/income processing system and a data delivery & reporting application, to ensure business continuity across the Accounting, Copyright Administration and Royalties departments within Disney Music Group and Controllership. The Music application ecosystem is dependent upon financial and non-financial data in support of the timely processing and delivery of revenue-expense, royalties, reporting and journal entries on a monthly/quarterly/semi-annual basis.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Define and articulate product strategy and vision, gaining alignment from business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Create and maintain product roadmaps that clearly connect vision, strategy, objectives, and execution including on-going sustainment activities to support weekly, monthly, quarterly, & semi-annual deadlines (accounting close, royalty statement cycles)
  • Provide end-to-end product management ownership for a specific product or platform within the sales, finance, accounting and royalty for recorded music domain.
  • Evaluate enhancement requests with business partners, assess value proposition, and recommend solutions aligned with overall product strategy.
  • Define product targets, KPIs, and OKRs to measure product success.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify, document, and clearly define business requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, design, and QA teams to deliver solutions aligned with product and overall music supply chain technology and business strategy and vision.
  • Support process alignment and standardization across teams and workflows.
  • Work closely with product leadership and cross-functional teams to optimize product features and improve business processes.

Product Execution & Delivery
  • Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Refine business requirements and solutions into practical minimum viable products (MVPs) that address high-priority needs.
  • Coordinate and support major product releases.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily scrums, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support issue resolution by helping teams identify, develop, and validate solutions, including complex problem solving when necessary.

Product Analysis & Decision Support
  • Make thoughtful, well-documented assumptions and product decisions.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis and develop lean business cases.
  • Use product frameworks and tools to document and communicate product concepts (e.g., user journey maps, workflows, information architecture).

User Experience & Product Adoption
  • Maintain strong user empathy and advocate for the end-user experience.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve user experience and streamline business operations.
  • Own system processes, user guides, training materials, and documentation for product features as needed.
